What about the adopted son's powers? Did they ever comment on that? In one of the earlier episodes he is making his building blocks levitate. And I believe he was building the manor on Europa at the time which would clearly mean he has a Dr Manhattan connection. I thought he would have a lot more story to him after the first episode or two. Actually when they first mentioned DM was back on Earth in human form, the son is who I first thought of. Thought maybe DM had himself reborn somehow...

Pretty sure they just do that as a technology of the time. It wasn’t super powers
The kid was pretty much a red herring

Ahhh, that is probably true. That went completely over my head

Not real impressed with ending. Less see if I can cut though the chase:
- white people are mad at other races so they want to kill them and have elaborate kkk societies to enact their evil plans. White power! Cyclops! Pepe!
- the president is a Buffoon and only in office because he's someone's puppet
- the FBI is heroic and beyond reproach and is going to save the day because they are so pure
did I sum it up?

if you hang out on the PT enough, you'll regularly see comments about how hard it is to be white man in modern society. and that's without any actual reasons. imagine if they were forced to pay reparations and, in some towns, were phased out of the middle class by black folks who were there on the benefit of their tax dollars. id say the elaborate KKK society angle is believable enough, for a show that takes place in a world where peace was achieved when a fake alien squid killed millions.
your other two points just show how triggered you were when you watched the show.

The cyclops people were pawns. Hardly involved in the final conflict. Sorry that offends you?

Redford was my president in the comic. The show didn’t change that

Read the Petey files and you’ll see how wrong this is
But please keep melting

Nope. You wildly missed the mark

So the 7th Calvary wasn't a one dimensional character?

They were pawns of lady Trieu. Nothing more

Actually, it was Nixon. In the end, there is discussion of Redford running, and how no one will believe a cowboy actor could get into the White House. Not so subtle jab at Reagan.

Bad miss on my part, I was confusing those two things. I was thinking he was elected near the end for some reason

quote:Did we watch the same show? The FBI was represented by Blake and Petey. When she's not getting off to self-referential porn and a big blue dildo, she's banging her assistant. She's also shooting vigilantes not knowing if they're wearing body armor or not. Then there's the time that she miscalculated a terrorist's intentions and almost blew up an entire funeral party. Meanwhile, Petey is a beta vigilante want-a-be, getting shagged by his boss in his little Lone Ranger mask.

This isn't Ephram Zimbalist Jr.'s FBI.

Okay, I’ve watched the finale twice because I was high as shite for the first one, but man....maybe I hyped it up too much but I was expecting a little bit more.
I’m not saying the ending was bad. It’s still probably the best show I’ve seen this year, but I have the same feeling I did after the finale of True Detective season one.

Interesting because this board thought up so many insane theories about TD season 1 while it was happening that when none of them came to fruition, this board melted down like it was a bad saints playoff loss.
This show, Reddit pretty much called with a lot of the theories, and no one was upset about it being predictable because no one really knew, they just made a solid story that gave you the answers in code and let you figure it out as the season went

I stopped following ‘reddit theories’ after Westworld. It ruined the show for me.
I basically used this thread for quick reactions and what not and didn’t really take in any of the theories so I wasn’t real sure what to expect in the ending.
They did wrap mostly everything up. Someone else I think said they stuck the landing, but it wasn’t smooth. That’s probably how I’d say I feel too.
Show was great overall though.

did she actually zap them at the end or teleport them somewhere...unpleasant?

For this show I would highly recommend atleast supplementing it with a recap show (Light Camera Barstool has done a really good one) as it points out a lot of Easter eggs and tie ins that you’ll likely completely miss. A lot of the ways they tied up the plot were perfect with how they set it up during the season and it was amazing the way Lindelof connected all the strings without the super ambiguous shite he usually does.

Not white people but a segment of racist white supremacy idiots who were so blind by their hatred they couldn't see they were being using by the real villain.
Redford wasn't a puppet. Veidt may have helped him but Veidt himself says that "Redford denied he needed his help and said he wouldve won on his own anyway" Im paraphrasing but Veidt didn't do anything to him after being shunned.
The FBI, as others said, were really represented by two people. One of them basically acted like a vigilante with a badge. Also, Veidt basically saved the day not the FBI although they helped.

You need to relax on politics and enjoy a TV show every once in a while.
Great show, great first season.
