re: Watching Rocky III - Clubber Lang seemed to be correct

Mickey was the villain. Has Rocky beating up tomato cans and ducking real fighters like Clubber.
In Mick's defense, I imagine Rocky needed some post-Creed paydays in order to retire wealthy. He arranged some fights Rocky should win comfortably in order to do that. Once he had done so, Mick wanted him to retire, as did Adrian.
Rocky was in his mid 30s by the events of the third film and had taken two hellacious beatings from Creed. And the only reason he even beat Creed was because of his superhuman ability to take a beating and keep on ticking, which isn't the best way to make a long term living as a boxer. He was also highly inspired in the second Creed fight to give Adrian and his son a better life and trained hard and fought his arse off to win. It made sense to retire after pulling off a miracle upset as a heavy underdog and taking a few victory laps against lesser opponents to fatten the bank account before calling it a career If Lang hadn't showed up at the statue unvealing, that's probably what would have happened.
They probably would have all ended up better off if things had happened that way too. Mick likely lives longer. Creed and Rocky may not have had the bromance but Apollo probably doesn't get beat to death by Drago. Rocky probably doesn't have all his money swindled and become poor.
Maybe beating Lang and Drago bumped Rocky up on the all-time greats chart, but he certainly didn't end up better off physically and financially due to those fights.

Fine and we see Rocky knocking out those guys and getting wealthy. At the same time we see Mickey watching Clubber fights looking scared as hell. His desire for Rocky to retire was definitely fueled by fear of Clubber. When Clubber blew up the retirement ceremony Mick didn't just say "he's done", he said" you don't get no shot".

Stallone may be 5’10” with his platforms on.
Agreed - he's closer to 5'8" than 5'10"

Well, Rocky did end up getting the shite beat out of him by Clubber in the first fight. Mick wasn’t wrong about Rocky’s mental state or Clubber’s formidability.
For what reason would Mick want Rocky (especially a version he knew was unfocused and lacking the hunger that made him a champion) to fight Clubber at that point in time? Rocky had all the money he needed and plenty of glory.
Retire and go “join the circus.”

The Mohawk was sheer genius on his part- never had seen that before since the Cowboy and injun stuff - way ahead of his time and it was terrifying

I remember this perfectly. He crashed through a door and grabbed the string to a bell and rang it as he was falling.

So you never saw Taxi Driver? That was terrifying.

Stallone are only about 5’10.
I think Stallone might have been 5'9" TOPS at his peak. He's shrunk even more than that now. He tells people 5'10" but I think that's giving himself an inch like many do.
ETA:
But, what people don't realize when they point that out, is that Tyson was 5'10". It's not unheard of.
