So, tonights episode was basically a radio show. It was shot so dark I could hardly see anything that was going on.

Great episode and "The Walking Dead" still as the shock, like when Sofia walked out the barn episode. That's impressive after this many seasons...
Wow, great set up episode when Carl helped that guy out, but got bit, we didn't the bite coming. Rick will probably carry out Carl's dream of peace one day. That walk and talk flashback between Rick and Carl, after the 1st meet with stranger, will be huge to how Rick is moving forward.

Carl bite was definitely a surprise, but not quite what I was expecting when both the previews and last week's TD was pumping an "extreme moment" and that "well be talking about it forever." I was thinking much more a long the lines of a gruesome major character death, possibly by Lucille.
Also, Rick, what the frick? You were standing over Negan with Lucille in hand but can't get a swing in? That was disappointing

I think a lot of the Carl hate was spillover from Lori, at least initially. Lori was always letting him wander around and not knowing where he was in the middle of a Zombie Apocalypse and he tended to get into shite that affected the group.
I never hated him but never thought he was a great character either. To be honest, his being bitten didn't really strike me as a "everybody will be talking" type thing.
