Villain could be argued, but that’s it.

It's awful.

I haven't seen Green Book. But everything I have seen and heard about it makes me feel I'll love it. Granted, I loved the shape of water so tifwiw

Ummm, no. Thanos is an all time classic villain. Killmonger will be forgotten in 5 years.

I fear for a M/TV board where someone thinks this can be argued differently.

Killmonger was pretty entertaining. He’s not particularly important in the grand scheme of things, but many people found him compelling.

I mean, he's in the better half of Marvel villains, but he's no Thanos or Loki.

Looks like a shite list of candidates to me.

Is this the weakest year since Crash won?

Let’s see

Red Skull
Loki
Iron Monger
Ivan Vanko and Justin Hammer
Abomination
Loki again
Maleketh
Crossbones / Winter Soldier / Alexander Pierce
Ronan
Ultron
Yellowjacket
Zemo
Kaecilius
Ego
Vulture
Hela
Killmonger
Thanos
Ghost

There’s a lot of crappy villains on that list between bad performances, bad writing, or bad source material.

It’s pretty much Loki and Thanos separating themselves from the pack and some other good but not great performances like Jeff Bridges as Iron Monger.

They did the black oscar movie recently, so it's time for them to shift back to the love of their own showbiz culture. A Star Is Born is a shoe-in.

The Favourite +1800

Goddamn this is a shitty year for Best Picture.

My list:

1) Loki
2) Thanos
3) Vulture
4) Red Skull
5) Ronan

The last two are for the entertainment value that they provided.

I’d put Ego in there if only because Kurt Russell was gnawing the scenery hardcore as a godlike being.

I've seen a lot of stuff I enjoyed, like Upgrade, A Quiet Place, Three Identical Strangers, etc. But I haven't seen one transcendent movie this year like La La Land, Ex Machina, etc.

This will get the media push, just as moonlight did.

It just wreaks of Oscar Bait for this "new, enlightened" breed of votersa and media slobbering.
