Man, choosing 20 is TOUGH.

A top 40 would have been better

Here is my list, subject to edit before the deadline of course:

1. Mosquito Coast
2. Raging Bull
3. The Breakfast Club
4. Raising Arizona
5. Raiders of the Lost Ark
6. The Empire Strikes Back
7. Back to the Future
8. The Princess Bride
9. The Untouchables
10. Airplane!
11. This Is Spinal Tap
12. Die Hard
13. Bull Durham
14. Ferris Bueller's Day Off
15. Three O'Clock High
16. Rain Man
17. Stand By Me
18. Mask
19. Lethal Weapon
20. 48 Hours

Some that could have made the list and I had a tough time omitting:

E.T.
Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom
The Shining
Full Metal Jacket
The Terminator
Predator
Blade Runner
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
A Christmas Story
Teen Wolf
Hoosier
The Naked Gun
Return of the Jedi
Field of Dreams
Beetlejuice
Caddyshack
Sixteen Candles
Planes, Trains & Automobiles
Ferris Bueller's Day Off
Weird Science
National Lampoon's Vacation
Beverly Hills Cop
Coming to America

I got that at home right now. Think I may have seen it when I was younger but not good enough to recall all that well.

It's funny how every time a new list goes up I see a movie that I'm like "shite! How could I have left that one off?" And then I go to look at my list to see if there's something to cut and just can't find a spot.

I'm enjoying the lists in this thread more than any of the MWADS threads so far.

oh shite. Directed by Peter Weir, based off a Theroux novel, adapted by Paul Schrader, and starring Harrison Ford, Helen Mirren, and River Phoenix? Glad you mentioned this. Never heard of it but it has an amazing cast/crew.

Well now I really can't wait to watch it. I love watching movies with mixed opinions in both directions.

I been all up on Peter Weir's nutz since I saw Picnic At Hanging Rock (one of the better old movies I saw in 2011) and The Last Wave. He does a helluva post-colonial movie.

I still haven't seen Last Wave yet I got it and Fearless as my next two of his in my queue. But I like all the others of his I've seen Panic, Witness, Truman Show & Master and Commander.

Just got done watching it. I like the way Weir was able to take a beautiful outdoor setting and slowly over the course of the film along with Ford's deteriorating mental condition turn it into a nightmarish landscape.

Is it sad that I can't cut for my own list? Down to 35.

Ugh. It's impossible. I going to pull the dictatorship and just count all of my films.

The easy solution to this problem is just to create an alter and post a list of the other 20 movies. Username could be Freauxzone Layer. I'll delete this post if I say that name floating around here.

The solution is simple. Keep whichever movies may also be on my list cut the ones that aren't.

So much easier for me to pull rank, haha.

But good idea.

Do you know how hard it was for me to narrow it down to 20?

You do NOW!

Don't be ridiculous. Obviously, his alter's name would be "The Freauxzen One"

Some guy "gave" his wife's picks earlier. I joked afterwards by saying I might get a friend to give me his.
