I remember that Karl Malden and Raymond Burr hosted Unsolved Mysteries first.

Couldn’t tell you the episodes or any photos, but I distinctly remember two.
One about some jelly like shite raining down on a town and lots of people getting sick.
Another about somebody spontaneously combusting.

Still the absolute scariest theme music for any show on television. I hated hearing that song begin to play as a kid and to this day it still makes the hair on my neck stand up.

I remember they did an show about a guy from Houma that went missing. A.J. Breaux. That's the only case I remember just because it was local.

Wasn't his car found by Jim Bowie Park? I remember hearing this story when I was younger.

Yes, I believe it was found there.

There was an episode where a girl (late teens, 20s) was on the back of a motorcycle and a guy drove by in a truck and hit her in the back of the head with a board. She was a vegetable from there on out. I was 8 or so but I found the randomness of such a devastating act unnerving. To think, it was probably just kids doing a prank, scary stuff.
Another was the State Department official that murdered his whole family and then shoved them in the family station wagon and burned the bodies in rural Maryland. Fast forward 5 or 6 years and one of his work colleagues runs into him in a bathroom in Rome. The guy looked like a homeless drifter and freaked out and ran away at the mentioning of his own name. Not sure if there was an “Update”.
The ghost specials always lead to sweaty nights under my covers listening for any sound that might be out of place. What a great show.

The Rendlesham forest incident. Always seemed like the most credible UFO case ever considering it all took place on a US/UK military base.
But also the arson that would record the engulfed houses from a distance and laugh manically. Would leave the videotapes for random people to find too.

My dad (and us) was stationed nearby there a few years afterward. He thinks it's bullshite.
I bring it up just to get his response.

So many sprints to the bathroom from the living room because I had to cross dark bedrooms to get there while I watched the show with my brothers.

I would always get excited when I was younger when the UFO episodes would come on.

Unsolved Mysteries was the first I ever heard of Roswell. Freaked me the F out at the time. I now think Roswell is largely myth but the UFO issue generally is interesting.

I see a guy at work now and then who's son was abducted and on one of the newer episodes. He was also my doctor for a short time during the time his son was abducted. Didn't find out until I saw the episode recently.
