well first of all, you said his portrayal was monotone and boring, which is your opinion, of course, which you are entitled to, but you may literally be the only person walking the face of the earth with that opinion.
and his character shows emotion when it calls for it. he's playing a highly emotional person actually, who has his emotions artificially suppressed to maintain his own sanity. multiple scenes immediately come to mind where his emotions take over unexpectedly. some of the BEST scenes are when he loses control or gives into his emotions. have you even watched it?
i mean maybe the actress playing Navarro is amazing and she is dull and dry and stilted by design (if so - she's nailing it). maybe her character will blossom forth in following episodes.
i dont want to shite on the actress though, honestly - i do think a lot of it is just poor writing / directing.

He was crying and an emotional wreck over his daughter in episode 1. Yes he’s entitled to his opinion unless there are facts that prove otherwise and there are an abundance of facts that do this.

That’s the thing. We’ve had years to watch and enjoy and process all the ups and downs of Rust. We’ve had 2 weeks of Navarro. It’s incomplete.

a fact which i have acknowledged multiple times in my posts on this thread. but my point still stands that even on first viewing, by episode two we were much more captivated by Rust than we are by Navarro

Navarro doesn’t bother me in the least. She’s just not comparable to Rust who was this worldly, wise, super intelligent and broken person. She’s more of an idealistic, young fighter for justice or a “Blue Flame” in cop terms. They’re just very different characters.

I don't really have a big problem with Navarro either. I thought that she was much better in episode 2.
Foster is obviously a skilled actress but her character annoys me a good bit of the time. Gruff, neurotic, masculine acting character that is a straight up whore bag.

Looks vaguely like the corpsicle. Yellow jacket. The woman is a rare specimen.

. Calm down.
I wasn’t ready to suspend reality yet while watching. I was still looking for explanations of the live one eyed polar bear in the street and the child in bed waking the Chief followed by the stuffed one eyed polar bear next to the bed that later shows up in a collection of kids toys in a box.
And now you hit me with a naked, frozen human still alive after 3 days when all humans in World history have died in less than a day under those conditions.
At a point when EVERY character in the show should be completely absorbed by this fact, I’m gonna address this with a calm phone call the Chief has with the hospital while walking down a school hallway?
And follow that up with not ONE mention from any other cast member? FTR, I’m OK w a supernatural angle here, I just don’t want the difficulty of trying to follow nonsense for no other reason than nonsense.
You sound like a big fan of superhero, comic book stuff. To each his/her own

Without reading this thread - is season 4 woke or is it just good?

they're searching for an ancient microorganism that could potentially help cells regenerate...maybe they found it.

How does it stack up to seasons 1-3?

Was it 3 days? For some reason I felt like I heard somebody say 48 hours but I can't pinpoint it.

i've posted quite a bit over the last several days about how i think it compares to season 1 so far, just click back through the pages. it's not nearly as good as season 1, and if i had to guess once the dust settles, it will probably be on par with season 3.
