Did anyone else think Tuttle dropping the "as soon as we get the school voucher program we will start the schools again" line was subtle frick you to Jindal/conservative supporters of that plan?
if you support this plan you are supporting child rapist and murderers

It's another nail in what coffin?
personal expectations of optimism

Why in hell would you be mad that Rust fricking Maggie is the straw that broke up the Rust/Marty partnership?
a. it's cliche'd and has been done a million times
b. i don't think rust would do that (and not even really b/c it would offend/hurt marty)

So by expectations you mean predictions?
It seems like SFP likes using words with negative connotations to make his point stick more. Decreasing expectations is the same as changing predictions. Cliche/boring/predictable is the same as straight forward.

we're at the end of the story. they are one in the same at this point.
No, they aren't. Not even close, actually. You've been preaching about expectations and have said yourself that people have been changing them for weeks. So you were on the "expectations" bandwagon less than halfway through the series. Don't change it now and say that expectations and predictions are one in the same because that's bullshite and we both know it.

so we're clear, i'm not a social conservative
i just detest the typical way they're portrayed in contemporary media

SFP is so far down the wormhole I dont know what he is even arguing anymore
If I am in the jury box hearing him present his argument, SFP just put me to sleep

perhaps let the entirety of the show play out and then analyze the sum total and not the individual parts
But he refuses to do that because he's been unhappy with the show since episode two basically. Ever since then he's been on a mission to be right about it being a letdown (and by letdown I mean it isn't gonna pan out like he wanted it to).

What's the old saying karma used to like? Something like "There are only 5 types of stories ever" or some such shite.
So you're mad because this show is too realistic in that Marty's pissed off wife who's given him chance after chance finally got fed up and got out of her shitty relationship the only way she knew she could?

just look at the prediction thread, if you dare. they're discussing the "shocking reveal" next episode
they're dismissing the fact it's marty's daughter b/c that's too obvious. they are expecting something really off the wall to happen
odds are, it's marty's daughter and it isn't this big shocking (or creative, but that's more difficult b/c there isn't enough time to use the nuance for that).
but their expectations are something bigger. something more shocking and/or meaningful to the plot

i'll use another one: the tuttle stuff
my expectations were that we'd see something new/fresh with this story archetype...but it's the same ole "white religious people are really hooded evil people" theme. i WANTED to see a new spin on this story. we had so much working to avoid the "Same ole" stuff.

The thing is like after episode 2 or 3 he was complaining because he feared deus ex machina, now he's complaining that he saw plot points coming and wants to be shocked.

Correct. It's because, in a weird way, he wants the show to fail so he can say I told you so. And in his mind, it already has (and can't redeem itself). Like I said, he's watched 2/3 of this show biased to be disappointed in it.

no i'm pissed that they've spent this time on Rust...only to have him act way out of character simply to further the cliche'd plot

the series isnt over yet, we dont know what the end game is
Tuttle could have been killed by the cult because he was heroically fighting them. That could have been the reason for shutting down the program, Tuttle could have found out it was being used by some in his church for bad deeds

and this would be great and would fill the remaining level of expectation i still have
if i thought there was no hope, i'd just quit watching (like i did with Lost)
