the potential spiked after episode one and has been declining since (very rapidly after last ep).
That, I DONT agree with...

they turned her into a super c-word though. she's the personification of whatever corrupted, evil female character archetype you can think of. and she used sex to do it...the ultimate societal meme of dirty whores
I get that's what people are saying, but she didn't turn into a c-word for the sake of being a c-word. There was motivation for her using Rust to get out of her marriage.

The acting in this show has been outstsnding. It's a show driven by character development and great performances that have been truly enjoyable to watch.

Like I said earlier it's rare that a show will be driven by character development and acting skills now adays because, as evidenced by the majority on this board, people just want to watch the plot develop and speculate about it and don't care how or why it affects the characters who are living that plot.
Certainly true of a few posters.

it's not unbelievable for a misogynistic social group, which TD is for the most part
*ETA: i mean TD for the board not the show

which character has developed, other than maggie?

This wasn't my favorite episode but it succeeded in moving the story towards where I think it may go.
Does anyone think the devil nets and the murders are done by two different groups? One good, one evil? This may have been brought up already.

bullshite. She's been abused for years by Marty. She even left him and he came back. She realized she could never get him to leave. And she has never hurt him the way he hurt her. So she hit him where it would really hurt. Then that scene where she told him was great. She tells him, stares him down, calls him a coward, etc...
How anything she did could be considered sexist by anyone except those who push the limits of the word to the extreme to satisfy their own ends is beyond me
She is more than justified when it comes to her rage at Marty. BUT, I do think it was a shitty move to use Rust.

Meh, I actually like the character more for what she did. I'll even take the stance that there was some female empowerment shite in there.

displaying the meme of the weak and frail woman who can't be independent of her man

using the only thing a woman can use to hurt her husband: sex
sex that "corrupted" an "innocent" (at least in that context)

i rally against modern feminism, but that whole arc was anti-female as hell

Perhaps character study would be more appropriate for you. And we have seen nuances and different aspects of both of the lead characters along the way.
Oh, and . . . fricking dragons.

Rust and Marty. Their relationship with each other and Maggie and families and coworkers. Their back stories and reactions to things that happen in the world.
The actual case is background. The point of the show is to watch the actors and characters develop and change and react. I like it.

female empowerment should be done without using sex to get there, though

if we learned anything last night, it's that marty has not changed/developed at all
and how has rust developed? he has the same view of society but with longer hair

Isn't sexuality a big part of female empowerment?

So, taking into account her family, she gave him another chance, and that makes her weak and unable to live independent of her man. Your pov might be the issue, young man.

A cop/nurse couple is probably 2 behind military couple as far as infidelity goes.

What did you want her to do?
Marty got exactly what he deserved. And she crushed him in a way he never dreamed of.
He's an alcoholic cheating violent neglectful shite of a husband and father. It's not like this show is fond of or catering to either gender.
