This
And Segway/tmobile were the icing

i agree with this. plus the audience (esp if it's targeted at teens) will require a certain level of tech for a suspension of disbelief
2001-2006 or so will be hard to get right. revolutionary times

The scene with Rust and Maggie was brutal. MM's best performance of the show IMO.

i think next week will be devoted mostly to rust getting marty to trust him and believe in his theories. i think the "wow" moment is the video seen in the preview, that almost assuredly involves marty's kid or wife

and if this does happen, will you come back and say "see? the show is predictable now and sucks"

I do remember Pizzollato saying that he knew what the last scene was going to be from the get go. Whether that's from an imagery or plot POV, no clue.

I think the wow moment will be the people in fricking ghoul and animal masks.

especially in relation to social class. Marty and maggie are pulling in bank and he is too old fashioned to be spending money on flip photo phone, sans whore pics.
Having said that it has no effect on me liking the show, just an observation

i didn't say the show sucked. it's certainly trailed off with each progressive episode and has devolved into a standard storyline with 1 fantastical fantasy character at the center (and good acting). better than some shock like marty being the killer
there is potential and reality. the potential spiked after episode one and has been declining since (very rapidly after last ep). the reality has stayed pretty level. real good, but not special.

Marty seems like a RAZr man, if i do say so myself

Yeah, people built up so many elaborate "stories" about how the present came to be, that something so straightforward disappointed. I mean they pretty much told you what happened to Rust and Marty in the first season, people wanted it to more than what they were told.
The criticism that bothers me the most about last night is how many people seem to be jumping on the "terribly written women" bandwagon. I get that the peripheral women are whores but Maggie seems to be a well written character. I don't really know what people expect from a show who's sole focus from the beginning has been the 2 leads.

So does this just prove that they are trolling the internet?

they turned her into a super c-word though. she's the personification of whatever corrupted, evil female character archetype you can think of. and she used sex to do it...the ultimate societal meme of dirty whores
i think my first comment in this thread was about how the people who called this show sexist were going to EAT that shite UP

now it's over. it feels like we're at a funeral and people are eulogizing TD...all the good times and all the things we were going to do in the future, interrupted by it's early demise. people are fighting with that in their heads a good bit
I actually agree with you here.

I don't get this...AT ALL
the same people that are complaining about last episode, would have complained even more if they would have just passed over the Marty/Rust split, the Marty/Maggie, etc with a line
they needed a bridge from 2002 and 2012, this was it
and I don't get the criticism that the show isn't as good because the fans jumped on all these crazy theories, but the show is actually realistic
how is that the shows fault?

The acting in this show has been outstsnding. It's a show driven by character development and great performances that have been truly enjoyable to watch.
Will the last episode have some twisty wow moment? Who gives a shite. The show has been a great ride and the end is nothing without the journey anyway. Like I said earlier it's rare that a show will be driven by character development and acting skills now adays because, as evidenced by the majority on this board, people just want to watch the plot develop and speculate about it and don't care how or why it affects the characters who are living that plot.
This show is amazing. I'm sorry some can't see that because they want M.Night Shamylan to direct the end of everything they watch.

Is her reaction really that unbelievable?

if you ever want to really know how retarded the people on here are, read the GOT books and read the non-reader discussion every week. people dream up all these crazy theories and spend every post convincing themselves and others that there is some truth to what they are saying.

bullshite. She's been abused for years by Marty. She even left him and he came back. She realized she could never get him to leave. And she has never hurt him the way he hurt her. So she hit him where it would really hurt. Then that scene where she told him was great. She tells him, stares him down, calls him a coward, etc...
How anything she did could be considered sexist by anyone except those who push the limits of the word to the extreme to satisfy their own ends is beyond me
