it wasn't really taking as much as repeating after you had stopped posting

I feel like they have so much story to get through. I don't see how they can afford an episode like this where the story really wasn't advanced that far (just mostly showing us stuff we already know happened).
These next 2 episodes are going to be crazy

Anything Rust said in the "interrogation" is inadmissible because he was drinking isn't it?

Has anyone noticed this picture on the shows website? The 2 guys on the far right are the 2 I have particular interest in. The one looks like he is a pretty big guy, may be the giant that was mentioned by the rescued girl, also the other looks to have a scar on his face.

Well, I'm glad you don't have children to call retarded.
Do you perhaps have a dog people can speak ill of?
You seem like a cat person though......

All look pretty backwards to me.

The giant and the man with scars are the same person. And two episodes are all they need to wrap this up. This episode pretty much got us up to speed with the current time line.

If I'm not mistaken, the girl from the tent revival said his chin looked burned. Whoever was with/around Dora the night she saw him.

he basically feels how i feel
still better than a stupid twist for the sake of making a twist, like marty being the killer
*ETA: something people obviously miss about me:

But, again, after doing such an exceptional job of confounding expectations through most of its first five episodes, tonight felt like the night where True Detective did almost everything viewers had seen coming long ago.

Okay, I’m done kvetching. I hope it’s evident that my frustration with this episode is directly proportional to my enthusiasm for the series overall.

I don't understand that reaction for this show, just like I don't understand for GOT and other good shows.
You can't have every show in a series be fast-paced. You set up things for later. You build so you actually earn the payoff.
The same people who can't understand basic plot points, to say nothing of themes and significance, will go around saying x, y. z isn't "as good". People should think of top-notch shows, especially a show like this, as an 8-hour movie, not as a tv serial.

This is exactly how I feel. We all pretty much knew that everything that happened in this episode would happen. I guess they're getting it out of the way

But more even than that, episode six has now tripped two of the more obvious narrative landmines that were laying around—Hart’s sexual recidivism, and Maggie and Cohle getting it on. Now, we can move forward and address some more intriguing questions. I’m awfully curious, for instance, about how that beer between the 2012 Cohle and Hart is going to go…

I loved this episode because it revealed that there has to be a cult. Several people are involved. Marty can't see it because he is blinded by his life and BS that he does to himself. He loves attention from the ladies.
Rust wants to find out what the frick is going on and continues his ways. He's the one and the only one that is keeping this show alive. Rust is getting close to finding out who has been involved. Nothing more.
