That will add you to the frequent flier route for sure.
I have never been one into hard drug use, though I did dabble in my wildier years, but the amount of blow and whatever was in the red vile, that MM used was insane. How he was able to function and get out alive WITH a suspect in that neighborhood was

Right on I10 in a heavy drug corridor. I would guess local authority gets a lot of DEA money for things like helicopters. That wasn't an issue for me.

This is one of the best shows on tv right now

Also why in the first episode was the court reporter preping Marty for a depo?

Done.
All I can say is holy shite. Edge of the couch. That ending was beautiful. Ready for next week.
If you're bitching about "how real" it is, you just missed some amazing television.

You'd be amazed at the tolerance of heavy drug users...

He was functioning at a higher level.

she was bringing him deposition transcripts, IIRC, which still doesn't make sense in criminal la w in LA

Might not have been meant to make sense, from writer's perspective

Am I wrong in thinking she was just there to flirt with/frick him?
Awesome last scene tonight. I can get past the fact that Rust's a superhero now cuz that was some Cuaron cool direction. Very tense, very fun to watch.

The show's story was never about the case. The case is the vehicle to carry the story of Rust and Marty similar to the Apocalypse Now journey up river being that vehicle to carry the true story.
I disagree, i think the case is the main storyline of the show. The first 2 episodes focused more on character development and the relationship between the 2 detectives, so everybody thought that the murder/case was a vehicle to tell the story of their relationship. The last 2 episodes have shifted to more of the investigation and action. Keep in mind the season is only 8 episodes, and next season is a whole new case with different actors. I think HBO wanted to get all of the character backstory/development out of the way during the first few episodes, and finish the back half focusing on solving the mystery.

Not sure which was better, that episode (which was incredible) or the fact that they still have a lot of story left to tell and only 4 episodes in which to do it. This series is going to be edge of your seat the rest of the way!

So were all the people in the hood running out to fight the real police? In that overhead shot I couldn't really tell if they were still shooting.
Posted on 2/11/14 at 7:17 am to Jabroni
Yea I think they were just fighting the real police at that point
That last scene was amazing. 6 minutes, all one shot. Talk about intense

I don't think it makes him a super hero, I think it illustrates his ability to think on his feet and find a way out of any situation, to stay calm under pressure, skills that were honed out of necessity for 4 years undercover working the corridor.
This episode also shows how much of a junkie he is for that life. when he opened that red box it was like he became alive again for the first time. he almost had a heightened sense of awareness on the drugs and pretending to be someone else
