People are spoiled now when it comes to shows. The quality has gotten so good and you have these shows on HBO and other cable channels that are mostly better than movies that people expect to be absolutely perfect.

I agree with that. And I am one of the worst offenders. Pretty much every show on TV today would be a complete masterpiece 20 years ago.

Lol

If you're going to rip the show at least get the simple details right. They weren't cops anymore. In a show that beat you over the head with the importance of details, people didn't pay attention...to the details.

I didn't rip the show. I said it was good. That isn't even close to ripping. I also am 100% aware that they aren't cops in the final episode. They are former cops. And in my experience with former cops, in that situation they would still act like cops. I just didn't think they were very smart in that scene. I can see that behavior from Marty, because he is tempered, but not Rust.

It wasn't about being buddy cops. There was a lot of resolution to the development of the Rust character as well as a summation of what the whole series was really about in those last few minutes.

Yep, all cops are exactly like the ones you know...

And why wouldnt rust have done what he did? He was obsessed with this case from the start and had been working on it alone for 2 years before hand. He found his guy he was looking for and he wasn't gonna let him get away

Can you elaborate on this? It certainly wasn't about the case. The case ended up being about as cliche as possible. It was about the relationship of the two men in the show who went through periods of tumult and ended up being buddies.

Those last five minutes were the PERFECT way to end the show.

This show was so fricking good.

Best eight hours of tv I've ever seen.

Marty was a foil for Rust. That was a lot of the point of their relationship. It was about the stars analogy. Light vs Dark. Rust's struggle and eventual spiritual awakening. I'm being very reductive just to sum things up, and it's late, and I'm being kind of lazy. The relationship was important, but it wasn't the meat of things.

Did you miss the whole back story on rust? He was an undercover narcotics agent who got bad off on drugs for 4-5 years, which ended up leading to him knowing the biker gang who bought meth from ledoux

So he probably has Hep C and participated in a gangbang. Two things that would add more value to the storyline than hallucinations that brought nothing more than B level special effects.

I ask again, what did the hallucinations add to the storyline? Why were they raised at such a crucial point for no apparent reason than to distract him before being stabbed?

Yep, you're just trolling.

The hallucinations was simply something rust gets from his history. Why is that so hard to grasp?

I'm not doubting that he had hallucinations. It doesn't surprise me and I can completely accept that.

It just had no point to it. Can you accept that the hallucinations were pointless?

If it is meant as nothing more than a character flaw, wow and

Just finished the finale on hbogo

What a phenomenal show. Loved every second of it. Every character and event was very well done. I'll be rewatching this quite a few times.

I wish we could watch a season just about Rusts undercover work. The evolution of him and his mind from good family man father and husband to deep narc undercover badass to the borderline insane strung out fricked up Rust we met would be one hell of a show.

I didn't take it as that. I took it as his "family" had been doing it for ever so the groundwork was laid out. Errol did'nt build all this from scratch he was just the last of his family to keep doing it and couldn't let the family "tradition" go.

Those sound shitty as hobbies go.

I recently rediscovered sex on a trampoline. You should give that a shot.
