I just hope this series highlights the neglect and importance of good cell phone service in rural Louisiana.

Can someone explain why so many people were involved in the cover up? Why would the Tuttles, etc care about a dysfunctional distant cousin?
Strictly because of embarrassment of the family tree?

That's the thing. He wasn't just some random creepy frick. He was family and they were a part of it

Nic Pizazazlotatata repeatedly said he wasn't trying to trick anyone. There wasn't any need to try to read more into it.
and if i told pretty much everyone after eps 1 and 2 that the mystery wasn't really a mystery, the interest in this show would have pretty much died out

Loved the show. Great ending... But! Marty's Daughter staged a gang rape scene in her bed room when she was like 5. She exhibited behavior of having been abused. They included this theme in at least 4 of 8 episodes.... You can't leave that unanswered.

A lot of books and television to go with dissociative identity disorder could do the trick

They were probably some of the masked men in the video. Same with ledoux

Billy Lee Tuttle was heavily involved in some messed up stuff and was definitely not a distant cousin.

So he was educated? Still a creepy frick not worthy of high up people protecting. If Tuttle had been behind it I could buy the coverup.
He was just one of the 5 guys involved on the video. I have no doubt Tuttle was involved as well as others. I thought they were pretty clear on that.

Errol's mom/gf/sister made a comment that "he was the worst one". I don't think Errol is the mastermind behind the entire operation just that he got the most into it probably bc of some form of mental retardation. All I will say is you would be surprised the amount of knowledge handicapped individuals can gather on a topic they enjoy. Most of them think about it constantly. I certainly can believe that Errol was capable of everything they showed.

FWIW, Nic P said in one of his interviews that he was retaining the rights to Marty and Rust, which was one of the reasons I highly doubted that either would die or be the killer.
I would love for them to do a season or somehow incorporate Rust's dad in a future season. His dad was a Vietnam vet survivalist living in Alaska who "had strange ideas". That's saying a lot coming from Rust.
Basically I just want to see Rust's dad.

Agreed.
And Maggie's dad still holds his beer like a queer, i want an explanation for that.

I think everyone was still in Breaking Bad mode, trying to find easter eggs and stuff.

but it is a mystery show with a Lost-level of red herrings. that's what drew everyone in. that dominated the discussion until last week (and even then some survived). that was the backbone of the show, and more importantly, everyone's interest in it
it just seems like now people are like "oh well THAT didn't matter, even though i made 500 posts in threads about it"
Posted on 3/9/14 at 9:38 pm to SlowFlowPro
What. They laid it out several times that he was family. And are you saying the Tuttles weren't involved? Where did Rust get the video? Oh that's right the Tuttles

did his pappy hire tutors who would work in secret, in a horror show of a house?
He was educated at a Waldorf school.

He could have went to Tuttle's school. Or his family could have had his birth records removed.
