I love Ween. they are a good call. Since we're nominated "weird" bands, how about They Might Be Giants? They don't get enough credit for being as dynamic as they are -- and how many other bands could release a children's album? That's awesome?

Country/rap/electronic. Hmm.

Can Jack White rap?
Could R.L. Burnside do electronic?
Sean Hayes is a guy I just got hipped to. He's pretty versatile.

Skrillex- This is the only one I feel like I really need to defend. He is a musical genius. Good singer, good guitarist, good producer. Could take almost any song, remix it, and it will still sound good or even better.

Skrillex seriously skrillex you have to be joking. he has only been around for a few years and must of it is crap. I think all of it is but he seems to have a fallowing so i will say must.

P-Funk- listen to the early funkadelic albums they can lay down the funk and rock pretty hard then get real weird/

JJ Cale- Country, rock, chill and sometimes real funky

I would trust John and Paul to make good music with garbage cans and drift wood.

The Stones
Elvis
Queen
Rod Stewart

Am I the only person who is "meh" on Queen? I don't think they suck or anything, but they really aren't my cup of tea. I have Classic Queen and rarely listen to it. But people absolutely love them.

I'm right there with you. They're fine for what they did, but I never was a big fan.

Or Keith Richards. Really. I think Keith could produce a good hip hop album.

Absolutely agree.

Phish is a band that hasn't been mentioned that could play anything. They have reggae, jazz, bluegrass, and rock songs in thier regular rotation.

Really? No one has mentioned Zappa? Come on people.

And skrillex isn't even great at his chosen genre there are much better electronic producers you could choose. Daft punk for one

This is an excellent call.

I would also have to agree with:

Ween
Stones
B-Boys (the Country Mike stuff was done entirely in jest. If they did it seriously, it would rival 12 Golden Country Greats)
Don't think anyone can argue with the Beatles

Elvis (The King)
Jack White
Lionel Richie

Surprised no one has said Aerosmith yet. Most of their albums have Rock, Blues and some C&W in them already.

Prince.

pink floyd is my favorite of all time. i would have to think hard about the other 4. but i truly believe modern rock's best pound for pound band is coldplay. every album is completely different from the other and every track is ridiculous. chris martin will/should go down as one of the masterminds of the music world.

Because they are an excruciatingly boring band that somehow has gone on to sell a gazillion records. Passionately liking Coldplay is like writing a sonnet to Wonder Bread. They are the first band to be adult contemporary upon their initial release.
