Upvote for Fear Strikes Out, his autobiography.
quote:LINK
On May 24, 1952, just before a game against the New York Yankees, Piersall engaged in a fistfight with Yankee infielder Billy Martin.[1] Following the brawl, Piersall briefly scuffled with teammate Mickey McDermott in the Red Sox clubhouse. After several such incidents, including Piersall spanking the four-year-old son of teammate Vern Stephens in the Red Sox clubhouse during a game, he was demoted to the minor league Birmingham Barons on June 28.
"Probably the best thing that ever happened to me was going nuts. Who ever heard of Jimmy Piersall until that happened?"

I watched that as an adult for the first time in years and years.
It was goofier than I remembered but also... damn does it drop some serious issues out of nowhere.
Foster kids.
Dad giving kid to the state and abandoning his kid for good.
JP gets car sick because he used to live in one.
Mel with lung cancer he didn't know about.
Great movie with what would become a star-studded cast.

Long Gone is underrated. Virginia Madden as Dixie Lee Boxx, female nut-roaster.

All of those and some others not mentioned like Pride of the Yankees and For the Love of the Game.
If documentaries count I highly recommend The Battered Bastards of Baseball.

I believe you need to break baseball movies into dramas and comedies.
Drama:
Field of dreams
The natural
*61
Eight men out
A league of their own
The rookie
Comedy:
Major league
Bad news bears
Rookie of the year
Mr. 3000
Teenage Redford and Close
Sandlot is tough to place. It’s good enough for both.

I wouldn't watch a League of Their Own if it was the inflight movie and I had nothing else to do.
Replace that with Money Ball and your list is ok.
