Second Group:

There are still some 2-vote films in here to fill out the list, there were more than originally thought. The next release will have all 3+ vote films.

The issue was: There were A LOT of 2 vote films so I decided to go all the way to 200 with them (the list could have been 150 3+votes). If you want, consider the Top 150 the real consensus.

There is 1 vote film hidden in here somewhere, because, well, I made the list. And that movie should probably be watched more, hint hint.

City Lights didn't make my list, but my list originally had 100 films on it to where it was very difficult to narrow it down to 40. It deserves much higher, and no thanks to myself.

I'm a bit surprised by the Exorcist ranking, it's last of the 3+ vote films.

Neither have I, but:

I want to be that person's friend though. I'm not sure many people love that movie more than I do.

It's usually just a simple ballot, not really too in depth for the voters.

For some reason, I never have an interest to sit down and rank movies for lists like these...that's why I never participate. But I always told myself that I'd prolly be good for a writeup, depending on the movie. But I never wanted to step in after the hard work had been done and step on any toes though, so I just sit back and enjoy the lists and the efforts that you guys put into it.

We've had some really solid lists IMO.

Third group. Again, we get a nice mix of new and old. I'm a little surprised at American Beauty for making it, that's a polarizing film. We have some stand out Pixar films as well In Bruges and Halloween. Talk about a wide range (that's always why I really like these lists).

The big surprise this round, I think, is probably The Matrix. that's a Top 100 film of all time just based on pure influence. But I'll take it since In Bruges made it.

Very surprised neither of those films made the Top 100.

And I've for once seen all the films mentioned there, and I have to say, Annie Hall may be the single most overrated film of all time.

I'm just tossing out ideas while doing this:

Maybe there should be a monthly viewing thread for newcomers or those just interested, use this list to facilitate what movies to watch (either go up or down the list). Watch one movie a month and discuss. Or discuss one movie from the list a month from here on out

Just a thought.

I could get behind that. I'd like to get into some of the older classics. I got hooked watching TCM over Halloween.
