Has anyone seen it yet? I went Sunday morning. I really enjoyed it. I thought Dominic Sessa was very good as a young Anthony Bourdain. Leo Woodall nearly steals the movie and Antonio Banderas is wonderful.
It was directed by Matt Johnson who directed BlackBerry.
The movie focuses on one summer before Bourdain went to culinary school.

I’m going to check it out this weekend. Sessa really impressed me in The Holdovers and I’ve only heard good things about Woodall’s performance in Tuner.

It really is a nice little film and coming of age story. I am a big fan of AB, so was excited about this when it started prepping last year in Cape Cod. You never feel like you are bogged down in the AB mythology. It could really be the story of any rock n roll chef.
It is shot really well and is funny with great locations and detail to the time period. Banderas, Sessa and the rest are really fantastic. And the music.
Highly recommended.

Thought it was ok. Went Sunday as well. I gave it a 7.1. The chick he wanted to bang was a smoke show

It's gotten rave reviews, going to see it tomorrow and The Dog Stars thursday. Love Parts Unknown and No Reservations
Leo Woodall has been great in everything ive seen him in. He has a monologue in Nuremberg which came out last year that may have been the best part of the movie.

My personal rating system from the 50+ movies I’ve seen this year and how I ranked those. I go to at least 2 movies a week with 3 other people and we all give our rating when we get out of the theater. Just left The Brink of War and I gave it a 6.7.

It's really completely removed from his adult persona. In fact, it could actually be the sequel to THE HOLDOVERS after he graduates from the prep school. His early years are the inspiration for the coming of age telling, only at the end do you feel the Bourdain of it.
