No he wasnt. He didnt care if there were casualties, he was only actively looking to kill a handful.

Antman: Yellow Jacket
IM 3: Aldrich Killian
CA: Civil War: Helmut Zemo
IM 2: Justin Hammer
IM: Obadiah Stane
Spiderman Homecomeing: Adrian Toomes

I don't think you understand how antagonists work. Not every villain has to be a super baddie.

Ok. Fair enough, I was wrong. There are 3 without even trying to argue. So Mysterio is way down the line.

Maybe true, but this is how you build an interconnected universe...

I agree, but they could focus on other connections in the MCU to emphasize it...I wish they hadn't killed Stark though but o'well

The Infinity Stones created the Universe and a good third of the heroes present. That's non-Stark as well. Well except or Vision/Ultron.

Ok I'm trying but everybody keeps disagreeing with me

How was he looking to kill thousands of people? Unless you view him being ok with casualties of these illusions as trying to kill thousands. Bc I'm missing where he was set on killing tons of people.

I mean when you plan and execute large scale public destruction, the intention is essentially to kill people.....

He held his crew by gunpoint, he literally pointed a drone at the drone guy.

It was literally stated in the movie that his last attack with the drones would kill thousands. And he said he didnt care.

They ran through the simulation, Beck asked for the damage to be doubled. The tech said that would kill thousands and Beck said that was good because more deaths means more attention.

And he wasn't doing bad things for a good reason ala Thanos. He was doing bad things for a vad reason. He wanted to be famous and to be the biggest superhero ever. He wanted that Tony Stark admiration.

BTW, both of the new Spider-Man movies have villains created by the other heroes. Vulture due to the Avengers, Mysterio due to Iron Man. Hopefully the third will have a villain who just hates Spider-Man.

The Skrull reveal deflated the film even more. So we didn’t watch a Fury film after all. Nice.

Finally saw the movie...I was ok with this because it at least help explain why Mysterio fooled nick with relative ease

I think that’s a fair criticism that I have too but it extends farther than just the villains. I know Spidey is connected to the MCU and they used Stark so effectively as his mentor and as his new uncle Ben but I’d like to see them distance Peter away from that now. It’s like they’re afraid that moving him away from Stark/Iron Man will kill interest in Spider-Man. He’s his own hero and should have his own set of problems and own set of villains that are separated from the Avengers. Let’s have NYC level threats now, let’s see spidey protect NYC and graduate from being a friendly neighborhood spidey

I’m ready for a badass, arse kicking, wise cracking spidey that we’ve seen glimpses of. And I get it, he’s learning. He’s only 16. But I think that as well as the Stark thing, has really handicapped spidey so far. Maybe fast forwarding two years when he’s 18 will give us that. I’m also afraid they won’t really know where to take this iteration of spidey once he grows out of this awkward teenage phase and they stop making John Hughes-esq spidey films. Eventually the franchise has to grow past that. It’s already becoming a little stale. I still loved those awkward moments but there were times where I wanted less of them and more of moments toward the end when he dusts his arse off and makes a suit in the plane then kicks some arse at the end.

Surely there's some shitty spinoff comic where Jameson becomes a supervillain

it was literally the first film following the immediate aftermath of Endgame and his mentor Stark dying

It's a good movie, but it's not like they had to go with Stark being the driving force behind the entire film. You can have Peter miss Tony without making the plot "Tony's enemy steals Tony's tech as Peter grapples with being the new Tony." They made the choice to make the movie all epilogue.

Hoping that the next film will leave out Peter's job as the new Tony Stark and focuses on him vs JJJ and Kraven.
