I mean, his relationship with Max is one of the key points of the show. The entire reason he’s doing this is to eventually get revenge on everyone involved in his murder.

We didn’t need that scene just for that. His leaving so suddenly is important, but what does it mean? Did he go there to hookup, but just decide he’s gonna deny himself his sexuality in service of his eventual revenge on Hector and Don Eladio and not do anything that may compromise that?
