They'll be back. Producers wouldn't have gone through the trouble of including the inflatable statue of liberty if they have no intent of showing how Saul acquires it

everyone poor one out for my man Howard Hamlin.

That dude is probably the only one of the main cast throughout BCS who has a decent moral compass

I would submit Nacho as another one. Didn’t seem so at the start but he turned out to be a good dude trying the best he could while stuck in an impossible position.

The Born Yesterday movie they were watching might be a clue to that (or a red herring who knows). In that movie, Judy Holliday is a crooked businessman’s dumb blonde girlfriend, and he hides his assets by signing them over to her. She turns out to be not so dumb and runs off with William Holden and the money.

Seriously, i Think Howard is the only main character in the entire show who is actually a good person.

They did a good job building him up/making you feel bad for him throughout the season.

- Stepping in to reassure the Sandpiper clients
- Making his wife the nice latte that she didn't give a damn about
- Asking his wife if she wanted to go to the event together (only for her to say she'd go alone)
- Remembering how Irene took her tea

And then... that

He was good in comparison to his cartel associates. But the guy was still in the cartel. He father never wanted him to be. His actions were helping spread meth and violence to many people around him. I wouldn’t be put him anywhere on the same level of innocence as a guy like Howard.

and he kept the two methed out girlfriends at his pad. It was Mike and not Nacho that eventually showed them any amount of compassion. Nacho did care for his father but also knew he was about to be tortured to death so even his suicide could have been selfish.

the two freakshow broads always seemed off to me.

Nacho wasn't a dumb dude. I couldn't stand being around brainless morons like those two so just don't see him doing so either.

Nacho could have kept running which would have left his dad in peril and likely dead.

He gave himself up to save his dad.

I'm starting to think Kim is in Omaha with Gene

like to dismiss Gene handling a KC Royals bag

Ok, I'll bite. Now I don't think the KC Royals bag indicates that Gene/Kim are in contact, but maybe it was something that reminded him of Kim during his initial panic.

Here's my crazy theory - The cab driver who recognizes Saul in Omaha.. Could Kim be behind the scenes trying to find/reach out to Saul? Could she have put those 2 guys up to confronting him in the mall? A few episodes back when Kim was doing PD work, she had a case where she brought up a mirror hanging air freshener as evidence - I believe it's the same one that Saul noticed was hanging in the cab in Omaha. I think Gene initially panics bc he thinks he's been made, but maybe he decides to stay & handle it himself bc he thinks Kim might be behind it.

It seems like a stretch, but it would explain why we haven't seen Gene yet. I think after this Lalo stuff plays out Kim is the first one to use the vacuum service. They had to show us that (years before) Kim disappears first before they can show Kim trying to reconnect with him in Omaha. Just my take at a possible happy ending.

or maybe Kim dies & that's it

TL;DR
Maybe we haven't seen Gene bc Kim hasn't used the vacuum service yet. Maybe she disappears & Saul never hears from her for years, but she is trying to reach out to him now in Omaha.

One thing I saw someone bring up is Howard’s wife possibly mentioning Saul if questioned by the police. Mike is probably going to help dispose of the body. But if they just make his body disappear, there will be even more questions. Howard did mention to his wife that if she hears about anything big happening with him, it’s to do with Jimmy and he’s handling it. I doubt it’ll cause Saul to be a suspect but it could cause some issues maybe?

the best thing would be to make it look like Howard committed suicide.

I think Lalo is going to use Jimmy and Kim to set a trap for Gus since he knew Gus was setting a trap for him.

BTW isn't this great? I'm loving the discussion and theories can't get this if a show is released all at once.
