What exactly do the Feds have on Saul? Gus, Mike, Walter are all dead. Jesse probably narced on him, but he disappeared. I think Skyler is keeping her mouth shut. Being a criminal's lawyer is not illegal; being a criminal lawyer is. Maybe he shows up to take his medicine and fight the charges.

but conspiring/aiding international drug organizations is. although im sure that will be his defense, that he was just lawyering.

But what evidence beyond hearsay from people who are dead do the Feds have? Skyler could be talking but what does she actually know about Saul's operation. She can't testify that Walt told her X. That is uncorroborated hearsay.

Have we seen him at all in S06 yet? Can't remember when the scene with the 2 "say it" guys in the mall was. Is that the last time we've seen gene?
man.. that was back in S05E01. (I never realized that we've only see Gene in E01 of each season. Maybe we don't see him till after the mid-season break? so E08?)

she has plenty of direct knowledge she wasnt just a wife who was only told hearsay...she was actively involved in the criminal enterprise and had met with saul regarding such matters.
Skyler called saul for help with ted vs IRS and ted ended up paralyzed, she knows he had something to do with that. that was all about tax fraud and money laundering. both of which she already had met directly with saul to discuss hiding walts criminal enterprise from her brother in law.
she had discussed with walt killing jesse, and knew saul was a part of that.
she helped saul's team extort the guy to buy the car wash.
Skyler can corroborate sauls participation in conspiracy for drug manufacturing/trade, extortion, tax fraud, money laundering at a minimum. also skyler has motivations to testify against saul. because of saul, walt was enabled to do the things he did which ended up in her brother's death and overall wrecking her life.
with skyler able to directly corroborate money laundering, money trails should be traceable back to saul and other criminal ops. money laundering is for IRS audits, it won't withstand an FBI's most wanted type of investigation.
ETA - hearsay is admissible if its relating to criminal conspiracy, discussing matters to further the conspiracy. so pretty much anything skyler knows (which is quite a bit) would be admissible corroborating evidence.

I think its going to deal with the parties that have axes to grind, prepping for their war.
gus v lalo.
jimmy/kim v howard.
after their axes ground and ready the next episode is 'plan and execution' where see their battle plans in action.
