Probably, but he can't really say anything or he exposes himself, plus he really wouldn't be able to trust anything Alvarez says anyway.

He's a smarmy a-hole lawyer that has likely not given jimmy a fair shake in the past, which one could assuem is largely due to his allegience to chuck. Since chuck's death howard has bene nothign but respectful or outright kind to jimmy even offering him a sweet gig at their firm. In return his personal property was vandalized, he was embarrassed by the hookers at lunch, his reputation is being called into question with the fake drug use, and now somethign that we can assume is going to be really big and really bad is in the works for him. And for what?

Agreed on the second part of your post. Even back when Chuck was alive Howard was up for hiring Jimmy at the firm. Howard has been nothing but kind and helpful to Jimmy. That has changed a bit now that Jimmy has tried to harm his reputation but Jimmy started all of that.

Howard is trying to make amends for what he’s done in the past. He even made a point to remember and talk to valet boy about his night school classes.
