It's currently in June or July of '04.
I read that link. Who put that wiki together? It’s not an official BB/BCS wiki is it? Granted I can’t recall if there have been references to what year it is in BCS but I’m having a LOT of trouble buying it. Main reason being that if BCS as of last night is in June of 2004 then that means that Saul starts yammering to Jesse and Walt in the desert about Lalo and Nacho FOUR AND A HALF YEARS later? December of 2008? Seems very dubious to me.
We’re also to believe that they’re going to suddenly cram four+ years into this last season?
It strains credulity. I can’t buy it.

I disagree with you. Mike says he saw the same tattoos on Colombian gang members back in Philly. Those were the guys Bolsa hired. Alvarez is from Peru, according to the last episode. I don’t think the two are connected
I'll have to go back and take another look. If those weren't Alvarez guys then Alverez is completely out of left field. It makes me wonder if it's just a throwaway name for that episode or if we will see them. Seems a bit late to introduce a whole new gang to the show.

Gonna be a lot of teeth brushing montages coming up. A decent time jump awaits for it to actually hold up timeline-wise

Vince or Peter confirmed that date in an article a couple days before the season started. I'll see if I can find it again.

Yeah IF these years are correct. Not sure I believe it. Leaning toward no.
It would be a massive depature from the formula. Hell, season 5 was a grand total of just over two months according to that site. Not one season has spanned more than one year according to that site. Suddenly though Gilligan and Gould are going to scrap that approach and cram four plus years into season 6? Am I the only one who considers this to be ludicrous?

Gus knows Bolsa is behind the attempted rip off of Lalo’s bail money. He can’t blame the Lalo hit on the same gang Bolsa used. If he knows Bolsa has a connection to those guys, he would know there was a high likelihood Bolsa would know they weren’t actually involved in the attempted hit, and it would point directly to Gus.

Well if so I’ll stand corrected but it sure doesn’t make any sense to me.

Jimmy and Kim's marriage certificate says it is May 26, 2004.

In the opening "Gene Scene" in "Magic Man", Gene's license plate has a 2012 sticker on it. This places the Gene Scenes in either 2011 or 2012 and due to the snowy weather, they likely take place in January or February 2012. This is almost a decade after the beginning of Better Call Saul and roughly 1.5–2 years after Walter White's downfall.

to be fair they don't need to address that entire time gap. we don't need to see 1-4 years of saul lawyering for crackheads...we already know thats what he was doing with maybe some occasional cartel business.
we just need a few episodes to set up sauls office to get him off the ground and resolve the war with hamlin. then a few episodes to resolve the post BB gene timeline

Still trying to find the article, but at the golf club you can clearly see that Hamlin's tags expire in 2005.

The time span to possibly see Jesse makes a bit of sense... Possibly over the next few weeks at the Crystal Palace.
Seeing Walt is pushing it. Well, I could understand seeing him somehow, but there's really no chance of tying him into the story.
...some of the greatest lyrics ever... Enjoy
Fallacies
Words and music: Jesse Pinkman
Black is the color
And beauty is the game
The beast has come to get me
But I don't feel their pain
The hotel sign is flickering
And beckons from above
The master of my own domain
I sow the seeds of love
Your eyes burn like daggers
Through the triumph of my will
Your hands they smell like gasoline
They cause my love to spill
Fallacies, fallacies
All your lies won't set you free
Fallacies, fallacies
The windy wind is blowing and the bedsprings creak their tune
My cup is overflowing
Shooting putty at the moon
At the Crystal Palace
Where I try to make my stand
My girls all call you Yoko
Say yer gonna kill the band
"Work makes free,"
They're telling me
I've got no place to start
Oh, how do I escape you
Little fuhrer of my heart?
Fallacies, fallacies
Run for you, dead for me
All your lies won't set you fre
Fallacies, fallacies
Black is the color
And beauty is the game
The beast has come to get me
But I don't feel their pain
I like my Funyuns salty
Like my Jolly Ranchers grape
Can't really I say I dig the way
My brain you tried to rape
I hang out though I know I waste my everlasting soul,
because I love your crabby patties and you pack a righteous bowl.
Fallacies, fallacies
Fallacies, fallacies
Fallacies, fallacies
Fallacies, fallacies
War and conflict
Fallacies
Clowns and convicts
Fallacies
Planets dying
Fallacies
(shite) multiplying
Fallacies
Popes and bankers
Fallacies
Spilling tankers
Fallacies
Excuse my attitude
Here comes the hammer!
It's all one big fallacy, yo

Fair enough. One thing I am smart enough to do is trust Gilligan and Gould. I have no doubt it will be a stellar final season.

Isn't this another split season? If so I'd guess there will be a time jump between them.
It seems really odd for Saul to bring up a dude that has been dead for over 4 years when Walt and Jessie take him to the desert though.
Since BCS wasn't even thought about ten years ago it's probably difficult to get the two series to mesh perfectly.

On the “it wasn’t me, it was Ignacio” bit, is there any chance Saul is referring to giving up Lalo’s identity to the DA with that slip up? Maybe Lalo gets pinched, Saul thinks that’s why he’s being dragged to the desert, knows Nacho was a rat and is already dead, so he tries saving his own arse by blaming the dead guy who already tried screwing the Salamancas over…
I like that. If so, Lalo has to kill Kim, right?

Just perhaps…
Lalo takes a U.S. domestic flight (under another identity) from Newark to Albuquerque and gets seated next to Skyler White.
After 90 minutes of Skyler trying to talk to Lalo, he does the honorable thing and walks to the front of the plane, opens the door, and then jumps out (sans parachute).
In all seriousness, could they place Kim and/or Howard on the charter flight that crashed with the commercial flight (charter plane JM21)?
I vaguely remember Jimmy/Saul wearing the ribbon for the crash for a while after.

It would be odd that Saul had no larger reaction to the death of either his wife or someone he has known all his adult life than wearing a ribbon.

I always assumed Saul wore the ribbon because he was trying to sue the airline and get clients who had claims against the airline for the crash, either because debris hit their home or they had a loved one on the plane.

I wouldn’t say that’s an absolute, if so, but it’s certainly possible/reasonable that he’d try to get at Jimmy by hurting Kim, sure.

I knew Nacho was gonna die at some point. Happy his pops had Mike looking out. I fully expected him to die too.
