There was a whole lot of Emmy-bait with Chuck. I was more than read for him to kick the lantern.

I think someone pointed out when BCS first started that Nacho was mentioned in Breaking Bad, perhaps in relation to Crazy 8. But he was mentioned by his birth name, Ignacio Varga.

But even if that’s not true, Gus told Nacho that he had more work to do. He’s entirely too valuable to Gus to be disposed of at this point.

Per Wikipedia:
quote:

While Nacho did not appear in Breaking Bad, he is named in the second season episode "Better Call Saul", the same episode that introduced Saul Goodman. In the episode, Walter White and Jesse Pinkman attempt to threaten Saul at gunpoint into representing Jesse's friend Badger who got into trouble with law enforcement. Unaware who his assaulters are, Saul tries to pin some type of blame on "Ignacio", which has since been confirmed by Mando to be the same Nacho

Also, regarding the pills and Mike’s complicity:
quote:

Nacho persuades Wormald to create placebo copies of Hector's tablets, hoping to kill Hector by inducing a heart attack. Wormald asks Mike for advice, and Mike advises Nacho to replace the placebos with the real medication after Hector dies, so that his involvement will stay hidden.

Wormald was the idiot with the baseball cards.

he was mention d. But I’m not saying he is ok then. Saul isn’t know for being truthful.

Anyone find it funny that Jimmy is working at a cell phone store - and the message he writes on the window has something to do with “the man” listening in?

How many cell phones did Saul have again? Too many to count!

I thought that was a pretty good reference to what will happen in BB. He must have the hookup on cell phones due to this job.

Understood, but it makes a bad show when you have two lawyers in the same house and one is overworked and one is unemployed. A good show avoids those types of situations.

To be fair though, I didn’t watch B.B.

You need to remedy that. Hell, your wife has seen BB.

I watched the episode last night. Thought it was pretty solid, and when it was over it felt like a lot of stuff happened.

I love Mike. He's great, even if he's just being an a-hole in a self-help group. I did think they were gonna flip it on him and somehow show that the dude wasn't lying about his dead wife.

Maybe I wasn't playing close enough attention but why did Mike have his outburst at the meeting? He obviously knew the guy was lying and I know mike is no-nonsense to the core, but he still does seem to have some sense of proper public etiquette IMO. Just seemed unnecessary for him to do that, especially since it would definitely upset his DIL.

He's still carrying around guilt because of his son's death, and now he feels like he's responsible for the death of the other woman's husband as well. I think the liar walking in and starting another BS story immediately after his DIL talking about Matty was too much for even him to hold in.

He definitely reached his limit with the guy when he tried to latch onto his daughter-in-law's grief with his own made up story.

Mike was not having any of that.

Yeah he got pissed because they were talking about something real and he was faking it. It pushed him over the edge.

I think the DIL talking about Matty fading from memory resonated with him too. Either because of his own fear of it happening to him, or maybe even anger because he still thinks about Matty all the time. I think the short flashback at the beginning of the episode shows that Matty is always on Mike’s mind.

Sweet, It feels like after last week all the characters are finally in a spot where we can get some great episodes.

My bad, it wasn't her husband that Hector killed. She talked to him last season about how her husband disappeared and it made Mike think of the civilian Hector killed.

Michael Mando did an AMA (ask me anything) over on Reddit

I didn’t really consider it, but this episode is likely the first time Nacho has killed anybody despite being a long time cartel member.

I thought the same exact thing when I saw it. The look on Nacho’s face after he shot that guy was telling to me, I got the impression that was the first time he actually killed someone.
Also, I feel awful for Nacho’s father. That last scene w/him & Nacho was painful to watch, that’s his son sitting there all bloodied up. Good chance that was the last time they see each other. I do hope they have a father/son moment before anything happens to them.

I thought that maybe Mike was feeling some anger at his DIL for starting to forget about Matty, particularly after all Mike's done for her, and especially since he continually thinks about him as evidenced by the opening scene. Mike also knows his DIL has been manipulative and not completely honest with him about some things, and these two things combined probably pushed him over the edge regarding the guy who was lying about losing a wife. Also, Mike just has zero tolerance for bullshite and probably only put up with it from his DIL out of respect for Matty and his granddaughter Kaylee.

ETA: Did anyone else think that Gus called Mike to meet about his involvement in his security job at Madrigal?

I also thought it was some insight into how Mike sees everything. He’s a pro, and he immediately spotted this guy’s bullshite. That scene was directly followed by him at Madrigal, giving the warehouse guys shite, which is what he said he had to do if he was going to be a security contractor on paper.
