Does he? He says rey is a Jedi but is she? And does that mean he doesn’t want them to die? Why does he want them to die?

Can someone tell me what’s happening?

the stole the plot from BG 19 minutes for a huge part of the movie.

that episode was a legend and SW deserves better than to rip that off. since when is fuel an issue in the SW universe?

No. But something as big as the dreadnaught isn’t going to have its own gravity field to pull the bombs from the bombers. It isn’t nearly the size.

Changing your mind on an issue you never had until 30 minutes earlier in a movie isn't character development.

If I say I don't want to eat chicken tonight and then a couple hours later decide, you know what I could eat chicken I haven't undergone any change as a person or character

The movie is so bad it didn’t even occur to me how dumb this is until yesterday. I mean, there are thousands of worlds and you can travel across the galaxy at light speed, but we’re running out of fuel? They didn’t gas up before leaving the planet? Surely they knew the first order was coming for them, right?

It was my understanding they diverted all of the fuel into the escape pods as part of the plan that Laura Dern hid from the audience and her shipmates for literally no reason at all

Those ships that got blown up which taught poe to blindly question authority and to stop taking risks and fighting back?

What sounds better? Poe or “I don’t believe in no win situations” Kirk?

That was different though.

Poe was a dumbarse who used human life as a sacrifice to take down a massive warcruiser.

Laura Dern just let people escape with no means to defend themselves, and no cover from the mothership, and then left them to be blown out of space.

It is totally different. She is also a genius because apparently deflector shields no longer exist and you can just use lightspeed to bypass their defenses.

I also like how she just sat there and observed multiple ships getting destroyed before making the decision to do anything.

f this movie.

He started out with one attitude and stance, held firm on that attitude until event in the movie made him change and act differently. How does that change doesn't meet the definition of character development?

This movie is not nearly as bad as all of you are making it out to be. It really isn't. And seriously, this movie is not as bad as Attack of the Clones. No way. Sorry. Like others have said, it is certainly not a perfect movie, but c'mon, most of the stuff that has been bitched about non-stop was no where near as irritating as has been presented.

I finally watched it tonight and I'm just in disbelief.. ruined a great performance by mark Hamill.. completely shat upon all the left over and interesting story lines from TFA and filled the movie with a sub plot that had no other meaning than to lead to the discovery of the resistance abandoning ship which in itself is preposterous.. Really... they somehow wouldn't notice the other ships leaving, they wouldn't have scout ships with their own cloaking devices... whatever. I enjoyed the main plot until the end .. frick you Rian for turning Luke into a force god to early

I agree with you and was honestly surprised with the intensity people had. Definitely had some faults in it but also did some things well

It’s also not deserving of all of the praise it’s getting. Maybe if everyone would recognize that this is just an OK movie with many flaws then it wouldn’t be such a big deal.

It is a bad movie. Is it the worst movie every made? Absolutely not, but it was a bad Star Wars movie.

I agree. It isn't the worst movie in the Star Wars library, but that isn't saying much. It is bottom three, imo, surpassed only by The Phantom Menace and Attack of the Clones.

I disagree. The jokes heavily damaged the movie.

Didn’t TFA establish that light speed travel can penetrate shields? That’s how the Falcon got to Starkiller bass

Regardless it still opens up a whole can of worms because why wouldn’t they just be sending cruisers through the Death Stars

As pointed out in the other thread about how the Alt-right opposed it, the critics who posted negative reviews and gave the movie ratings such as 2 out of 5 stars still were scored as fresh.

The actual critic rating is less than 92%, and if Rotten Tomatoes was more honest in its ratings, this controversy wouldn't even be a thing.

TFA ends making you wonder and wait two years to find out what Luke’s first words and reaction is to seeing this stranger bring him his father’s lightsaber that he has not seen in 30+ years. Needless to say his reaction was not what I anticipated. Once he tossed it over his shoulder I knew where this movie was going.
