Nathan Lane played a guy whose husband was out dancing with Peggy and Al damn near wanted to swap the two of them because he was very manly yet would also cook a gourmet dinner every night.

But it was funny. In many cases, in movies, shows today its forced.

Example: I watch the show 911 that was originally on Fox. There was a character, a fireman, who was a single dude.. ladies man if you will. Then ABC picked it up and all of a sudden this dude realizes he is gay.

There is already a gay couple in the show, which isn't a big deal, but with the guy who suddenly realized he was gay.. He goes on a date with this dude and they are kissing.. They don't need that to tell the story. They go out of their way to put it in there.

She and Ed O’Neil hate each other or more precisely she hates him and he claims he doesn’t know why.

Such a good example! Buck's turn to being gay made zero sense & every scene was so awkward.

Grew up watching this and In Living Color with my dad... Core memories

Started a rewatch a few weeks back and holds up well. Def couldn't get made today and the fact that hollywood made it back then, shows you how far left those loons have gone.

One of my favorite exchanges in that show was between Kelly and Bud

Kelly:" Do you know what I would do for a house in Jamaica? "Bud:" The same thing you'd do for dinner and a movie.

That one always cracked me up

Yeah all the libs would melt at a character that is blatantly making fun of conservatives. Sure sure sure.

I read the other day it's coming back as a cartoon with the original cast.

My brother's and I would watch it religiously growing up. I'll catch reruns here and there, and it still holds up.

I was recently watching The Pitt and was trying to remember where I'd seen the black patient, Willie Alexander, before. Then i realized, it's Griff lol. He's one of my favorite side characters. Him and Al had great chemistry.

That was the intended premise of the show when it was made, but America ended up loving Archie. Oddly enough LOGO of all channels use to carry the reruns

Like Ed O’Neill, Carroll O'Connor was a huge lib. Funny how some of the greatest politically incorrect and right wing characters in TV history were played by giant libs. Archie Bunker, Al Bundy, and Jack Donaghy. People they would hate but they made them iconic characters.

No, they don't. They would completely ruin it and not capture the magic that it made it special.
