Question/spoiler
When Yennifer's assignment was changed, why was she no longer eligible for the beautification, and had to force the guy to do it?

she skipped the initiation process where she would have had it done to pout about her assignment. so she had to do it unnaturally was my interpretation.

Wife and I agree that makes sense, thanks!

Took my time watching it. I didn't want to rush through it knowing it will be a LONG time before season 2.
When the cast was announced, I wasn't a fan of anyone. Glad I was wrong. I think everyone was great except Fringilla. Yen, Ciri and Geralt all did a great job. I'm still perturbed they took away my ginger Triss but I still ended up liking Triss in the show.
My main beef would be the limited episodes. Just when it gets real good we get to wait 18 months.

I'm on episode 6 and I'm wondering why Geralt just wouldn't stick a blade through Jaskier. His annoying character reminds me of Donkey from Shrek.

Geralt: Why is it Jaskier, that every time I find myself in a pile of shite it's you shoveling it?

You never roasted your best friend before?

Watched whole season last night
Absolutely brilliant. I am neither a fan of book or video game, but i know who the character is, and Henry Cavill is great as the Witcher. The part was made for him, and he nailed it.

I don't think he just goes around murdering people

Finished my rewatch and have a question:
In the last episode when the Witcher is dying from the zombie bite, was it his mother that saved him?

I've heard complaints, and mainly about how it jumps from present to past, to present, to past so much, w/o really letting you know, till you figure it out.
But i think it was a faster way of telling the whole story, w/o having to take us away from the main plot for 2 weeks worth of episodes.
I poo poo a lot of shows, but i absolutely loved this show.
There was a lot of rumors this was going to go super woke, but not even close.
And like i have said about the Mandalorian, the witcher has faults, he gets his arse kicked, he gets out smarted, and to that, you can enjoy the character even more. When a character doesn't have to work for anything, and always wins, it gets stupid quickly.
It's how Bruce Willis and Die Hard became such a hit. People could realistically feel with the character, they felt like he could be them. He was a normal Joe, who was having a bad day, and it got worse and worse, till the end, and even then, he had to go thru hell.
Quick question, are all the characters in the show, from the book/game? Or is this another version of the witcher from directors view?

This show is based on the books, not the games

Just watched. Knew nothing of The Witcher prior to this, and I loved it.
Only complaint is how quickly the resolution of Geralt meeting Ciri happened in the last episode. This moment was built up all season, and in the end he happens to get brought to a house she was just in, hears ‘girl in the woods’ and immediately thinks it must be Ciri, goes into the woods looking for her and magically Ciri (who ran off much earlier) is right there.
Small gripe, though as I could watch Geralt and Jaskier all day.
