You would think that at some point, knowing that at some point one of them would get infected they would have made a agreement if any of them get bit, the others would take them out ASAP.

Its like when you're driving and see a half smushed squirrel in the road flopping around. Do you put him out of his misery or take the don't end his life stance. I say you take him out.

seem to be doing everything they can to get infected
I hear ya dude. You have to assume they don't know enough about how it is spread to make rational decisions. Especially in a time of crisis like a zombie attack on your camp. The CDC guy knows how serious viruses are and has obviously worked around them and will take the necessary precautions. Hell they probably made the virus and released it by accident, those bastards. We don't really know much about how it is spread anyways. Is it airborne where breathing it is a concern or does the virus die once outside of the host?

BTW Hot Zone was a good read!

What I want to know is this ... when they put the sick guy near the tree, the motor home was smoking in the front ... talked about fixing it and the old guy says it'd been duct taped together for some time and he's out of duct tape ... HOW THE HELL did they get it going and make it to the CDC or did I miss something???

When the RV broke down they were on the out Skirts of a town. Shane spotted a gas station and went to look for a hose. I guess he found one.

Shane and T-Dog went to that gas station up the road. We just have to assume they were working on it while the whole "should we leave Jim behind" ordeal was taking place.

I think they inferred that Shane was able to find a hose when he went ahead to scout out the town. It was hard to tell the passage of time in between Shane saying he was leaving and Rick going to talk to Jim in the camper.

Shane sees something down the road... he says "hopefully it's a gas station". I think the part where Jim gets put out by the tree takes place AFTER Shane comes back with a hose... they just skipped all that.

Even Rick going out of his mind for a minute didn't seem to fit anything we've seen from him up to this point. It was like I was watching a totally different show for a few minutes. Weird.

I actually thought Rick's meltdown made sense. He was the one that picked the CDC to go to next and wanted to be right to keep them all safe and to protect his position as "leader" and "hero".

If was was wrong and they couldn't get in then he loses the group IMO.

Agree. The sister reanimation was painfully long.

If they are 6 months into this apocalypse then how far into were they when Shane brought Rick flowers. They only seemed about a week or 2 old when he woke up. Maybe Shane was able to visit bc he was LE and the hospital had not fallen yet. Still seems a bit sketchy though considering the ordeal with ricks wife and how they set up camp...

This was my interpretation as well, that the CDC guy intentionally infected Andrea.

I think he's going to intentionally infect SOMEONE. I think this is why he was quietly wishing they would leave, because he knew that if he took them in, he would HAVE TO do this. Remember, he needs "fresh" brain tissue to work with. Regardless of morals, as a scientist, he has NO CHOICE but to do this.

You react in strange and unexpected ways when facing extreme situations like that. They were really desperate. Night time was approaching, they had little to no gas etc..

they are 6 months into knowing about the disease. The Govt. could have and probably did keep a lid on it as long as possible. They are only about 2 months into the Global outbreak. So Rick could have been in the hospital anywhere from 1-4 months.

Can someone answer a question for me? (This may have been said already but I didn't go through the thread, since I just caught up during the holiday and didn't want to ruin it)

Rick shoots the little zombie chick in the opening scene. Had the outbreak already started at that point, or was that some kind of flashforward type deal?

PS: LOVE this fricking show..LOVE IT

I just do not think that they would have not caught the disease by now. They are exposes to it in so many ways when bashing zombies with bats and blowing their brains out etc. Maybe they developed antibodies to the airborne version?... I'm stretching for an explanation here. We know people caught the disease without being bitten, i.e. magical Negro's wife.
