I just saw the sneak peek of next week's episode, and they're doing samurai Judith again.

Me too.
Should have known by the eyes.
Not a terrible episode. Not great either. Hopefully it's setting up for something good soon.

I didn't get around to watching this week early. It was pretty solid. They jumped around, but it flowed well and wasn't totally scatterbrained like FTWD.
The Walker that the kids are taunting through the wall is Jeffrey Dean Morgan's son, Gus.

Not a lot of plot advancement in tonight's episode. The Ferals were cool. Connie living and being rescued probably means that Daryl will have to go full Jon Snow and kill the blonde. He can't have 2 girlfriends and the bald guy knows about him anyway.
I guess they're doing 8+8+8 episodes and ending in Fall 2022.

Dead zombies walk upright, but the folks in that house regressed to unclothed quadrupeds in just a few years after the plague. Strange.

that begs the question... who is mowing the lawn to herd unsuspecting victims? its not those smeagles. and how are they getting enough foot traffic to sustain the dozen smeagles in the house? one of them is capable of stabbing but why wouldnt the others have weapons, a rock, cane, frying pan etc.
thought it was a really cool episode esp with connie being deaf and kinda sleep deprived messing with her senses but the adrenaline heightened them at times too.

And the shoulders of the highway, pastures, etc. There can’t be enough livestock left to keep it eaten down, and abandoned places in the south become overgrown in a year or two.
Oddly, they retained enough humanity to cover their privates with loincloths.

Going with no sound in parts was a nice touch too. I really liked that.

True, but I enjoyed this one

I did too. It was something different and it was actually interesting and shot well. It was some artsy fartsy nonsense like we've seen in the past.

not much interest any more it appears.
I’m hate watching at this point
is the place that popes group lives the same place that Maggie is trying to get to? Did they take it from her group and that’s why they are hunting her?
I’m so confused

yes and yes. the reapers slaughtered maggies town and pope is paranoid that the few who escaped will return and cause many problems.
reapers are a mirror/foil to Negan's saviors basically. a rag tag savior conscripts to trained mercenary reapers. different strategies... kill 1 person to make others fall in line vs genocide the town. Negan more trusting of conquered peoples giving them too many chances, pope opting to kill everyone.
Negan even said he wouldve went back and killed everyone instead of just glenn etc

Nothing really happened this week, and next week looks like a cliffhanger. It's moving along, though. Looks like Negan wants to frick Maggie. Not sure how I feel about that.
Daryl and Shaw killing the people was cold, but I still think he'll go Jon Snow on her at some point OR she'll sacrifice herself to save him from Pope.
I'm watching the shitty World Beyond now, because Jadis was in the teaser. It kind of reminds me of the Maze Runner.

makes sense I guess, although this wasn’t made clear to me until this episode unless I’m just dense. Although...what did they expect? What is all this gnashing of teeth from them about losing some soldiers like it’s Maggie’s group’s fault? They slaughtered her people for fricks sake
every time there’s a new “threat” introduced I find myself just wishing for it to be over quickly so they can move on to something more interesting. That’s not how this kind of show is supposed to work LOL

The episode last week was really good and I think is a perfect example of what the show could have been.

I watched High School Zombie Musical (World Beyond) afterwards because Jadis was in the teaser She wasn't in the episode but she was in the teaser for next week. The show is awful, so good luck with that.
Pope still didn't reveal what he learned in the interrogation. I'm guessing it will figure into Daryl's Jon Snow moment in some way, next week during the finale. But the trailer for the finale doesn't look very revealing, so we'll see.

they discussed it clearly at one point, but i suppose if you missed that portion of convo it would maybe be confusing. the reapers do expect it because they let some escape. thats why they are trying to hunt down maggie in the first place to tie up loose ends.
I think theyre a cool revamp of negan's survivor group. imagine if negan started out with killing everyone instead of kill one and take half their supplies. but its years in the future so instead of negans scrub arse conscripts he has a squad of sicarios. I thought that negan/maggie convo a bit back was cool showing that negan recognized this and acknowledged he shouldve made moves like the reapers did and so should maggie.

no one likes losing their own soldiers. just about the only people mercenaries would gnash teeth over are people that can kill mercs, which is the survivors of maggies group.

Anybody really liking Eugene this season? I've been a fan from the get-go, but he's gotten more interesting and Josh McDermott is a good actor.
