I think people are just used to the zombies now

There are still undead beings surrounding the prison at all times

One thing that I don't think has been touched on is that I think we know now that the walkers aren't evolving into herd animals. The only reason they were bunching is because someone was feeding them.

Granted, they should have taken care of the groups before they got to such large numbers though.

I like the idea of the swine/bird flu and the saboteur. It takes away one of my complaints that the only way they were driving action was through the stupid mistakes of the main characters. These are things they really couldn't guard against.

I'd like to think I'd hear if someone I was in the same bed with started groaning and moaning like a zombie.

That's one thing I didn't really get about last night...I figured surely someone would've heard that kid waltzing through the prison groaning and munching on that other dude.

Also, when he first gets into the prison cell block, why did he turn and look at the cell that chick was in? I get it for dramatic effect, but what would've made him do that? She wasn't making any noise, and we've seen that walkers are basically driven by things that capture their attention (like movement or noises).

Is that from the preview during Talking Dead? I didn't see that.

That's a little tough to prep for even if you know it's coming.

One thing I would do on the inside of the prison fences is keep subdividing the area as much as possible. That way you'd get more opportunities to contain a breach.

I'm enjoying it, but honestly I'm a little underwhelmed so far.

I can't put my finger on it but it just seems a little slow and plodding.

What were you expecting to happen? There has even been some nice walker action, which was a complaint by a lot of people in seasons past.

I'd have to disagree on that..

I mean in terms of plot advancement...this whole episode took place in the prison and within a very short amount of time. That's what I am talking about. I realize that several "things" were going on:

- Rick getting back into Shane mode (including giving Carl the gun back)
- Carol/girls
- Carol/Carl
- Michonne's new injury (and some possible backstory with her losing a child)
- Sickness developing/quarantines starting
- Fence starting to fail
- Walker feeding (rats)
- Burning of the bodies
- etc.

I think a few people have guessed the stupid girl naming the zombies was the one feeding them. That makes a lot of sense.

It does, but I'm starting to wonder if they're making it too obvious...to the point that it may be misdirection.

I like the idea of it being De'Angelo (don't know his name on the show). I'd love to see him and Cutty go after each other.

They have gasoline, why not light the walkers on fire?

I guess because they couldn't control the fire?

I like the spikes in front of the fence idea

A gasoline fueled fire would destroy any integrity that chain-link fence has left.

Carol's character has done a complete 180 and she is now one of my favorites.

I appreciated them showing Michonne putting her guard down for a moment. She clearly lost a child and likely a husband.

I would spend every night up in that watch tower.

If you know it's coming you treat it like an asteroid headed towards Earth. You nudge it just enough that it misses you completely. Some vehicle/horse runs should be enough to divert the herd.

A big fire would make plenty of smoke and possibly attract unwanted humans

Exactly.

That's why I didn't understand why Rick put out all of the pigs for the walkers to feast on...he could've easily just used one (for the blood) and led every single walker away from the fences. Only thing I was thinking was that maybe they thought the sickness was coming from the pigs, so they got rid of them completely.

Like I said, the walkers are VERY easily distracted and shepherded. Just drive away from the prison for a few miles and then (easily) lose the walkers...it would take a while before they made their way back to the prison.

shite, in a jam, just procure a few vehicles with alarms and set them throughout the woods around the prison. When the walls/fences start to get overrun, set the alarms (from a distance by pressing the panic button on the keychain) and watch the walkers trudge back into the woods. Could also use makeshift explosives and take out walkers that way (in a jam).

That had to be it. Also why he torched their pen.

That's a pretty solid idea right there.

While they were talking (Rick, Daryl, Herchel, Glen) Rick mentioned that he lost a pig and he saw the pig in the woods. Herchel says "we'll need to do something about those other pigs".

Except that the alarm would attract other walkers that aren't in the area by the prison.

That's it exactly. So not only did Rick give up his bacon, he then burned the pen and his blood-covered shirt.

If you really look at the zombies/pigs scene, what it really was all about was Rick coming to the realization that no matter how well you succeeded in making life more normal, this new reality would always creep back in to turn it into shite once again. He looked so sad and upset in that trailer because each time he cut one of those piglets he was tearing down the walls of denial he had been trying to build for himself.

That's a brilliant idea.

What I was thinking goes back to the Mad Max bulldozer idea. Just armor a bulldozer up then run through any herds that come along. The dozer will be so loud that it will easily draw the herd away. I lean more toward this idea because any herd you leave to roam is a herd that can always come back (and maybe next time with more members).

the d'angelo guy has just had too many random little lines here and there not to be up to some shite. Plus there can't be 2 black dudes, so he's going to have to die soon.

the guy on talking dead seemed to go out of his way to mention that little girl was humanizing them by looking at one of their name tags, so I could see her feeding them

Not really. It may get their attention, but I'm not saying you leave the alarms on constantly. Just for a few minutes here and there if you need to lure the walkers away from the walls.

We've seen them do it before (lure them away with vehicles/alarms).

And even if you are worried about that, just drive a vehicle out like 20+ miles away, set off the alarm, and just leave it.

I doubt the person who is feeding them is the same person who burned the bodies. Seems like contradicting motives. Gotta be Lizzie feeding them and the black dude/other doctor who burned the bodies
