I believe the foreign couple was trying to get a lawsuit. They talked about how brown the water was..... and how it stunk.... and then said they drank it. bullshite. Later on the girl said how she’ll never be the same. They didn’t drink that water.

It wasn’t. Miscommunication. Mexican dude who worked for the hotel reveals at the end that it was open when he found her.

That makes the “elite” LAPD homicide detectives look even dumber and spawned a shite ton of conspiracy theories since they searched the roof and didn’t bother to look in the open water tank.

Well. I knew they were dragging this shite out. I’m already two episodes in so I’ll finish. But I told my wife at the beginning of ep 2 that we’re going to see a bunch of red herrings and then it’ll be something simple.

That’s really it. They tie it up in a bow and make those over zealous web sleuths look pretty silly. Like somebody said ITT, they should have done the doc on the hotel and made her one episode.

They say the hotel should have taken care of her? “She’s in your care!” California lunatics. It’s a hotel, not a mental institution or hospital. You’re not in their care. You pay for a room. Not for them to ask every guest how they’re feeling mentally daily.

I liked the series but it didn't need four episodes to tell the story.

That elevator video freaks me the frick out.

Super creepy, we went through the whole series in 2 days.

Only gripe is the web sleuth aspect pissed me off. Zero repercussions for essentially ruining Morbid, however fkn weird he may have been. They're just like "oops" and move on to the next thing. Just an insanely accurate microcosm for cancel culture in a way

The last episode or two were useless other than the big reveal about the hatch, which by that point seems obvious

I did think it was fairly interesting and worth a documentary, just stretched out.

The movie comparison was legitimately interesting, albeit meaningless

agree. if not to check the tanks you'd think someone would've climbed the ladder to the roof of the stairwell and looked around. if they would've walked to the edge and looked down into the tanks they would have seen the one opened and either be able to see her in the tank or at least investigated the one open tank further.

That and the TB thing with the Lam-Elisa test were pretty interesting. Coincidental, but still interesting.

And the one "web sleuth" that had someone go to her grave and put his hand on it for closure is a fricking psychopath. He has killed someone before for sure hah.

100%. I told my girlfriend during episode one or two that he was a serial killer and was giving me Kevin Spacey in Se7en type vibes.

Why does the blonde chick manager of the hotel give me weird vibes?? I know she was the manager of a slumlord hotel but dang she was awkward.

The dude from Web Sleuth might be the biggest SIMP I have ever seen.... and he didn't even know the girl

They could have wrapped that entire story up in an hour, 4 hours was a joke. Meh.
Spoiler:

I understand the documentarian's need to tell a story in an interesting manner, but leaving out that the girl was a known bi-polar who had bouts of persecution dementia was extremely lame. As soon as you know that, the elevator video is explained.

Also, the police spokesman kept saying that the police found the tank lid in place. The entire show I kept asking myself, "When are they going to ask the custodian if he found it open and closed it before notifying his boss?"

Entertaining doc, but could've been much shorter. If you're going to spread it out over multiple episodes, give us some of the info that the police had instead of dumping it all in the last half hour.

And those people that were obsessed with the missing woman (and still are) need to get a life.

Somebody hasn’t seen Don’t frick With Cats

Regarding this, my first thought after seeing the video was she was having a psychotic episode of some sort, but the thing (power of TV holding it to the last episode) about the hatch on the water tank was the key to everything. Had the police not botched that publicly this entire thing never blows up like it did.
