That was actually the author of the books.

I enjoyed it, really hoping for more seasons. I'm glad the show didn't go full "gear nerd" like the books can at times (mainly the first one). I love gear talk.... on a platform like a YouTube video. I don't necessarily need it in a fiction book I'm reading.

One criticism I do have is based on them just not having enough time to flesh out the whole book, but I do think Horn wasn't handled very well as a character. They tried to build him and his crew up as these badass guys, but they are taken out in the span of a few minutes. If they were certain they were getting a season 2, I feel like they would have a full season of Horn being the big bad and S1 ending with Reece on the run after killing him.

Ben twist was pretty predictable but also suspect.

How would he have not known Reece would figure it out very easily eventually? Wiring money to Peru after they had talked about it?

Had a slight inclination it would be the Mexican family friend as well. Must have missed what the significance of that family actually was.

Kind of wish there was a better twist but knew it was over when they were talking about trust in the van.

He did. He still helped him because he both felt guilty about and hated what happened to Reece's family.

The wired funds happened well before he mentioned Peru to Reece.

They dropped hints throughout the episodes that Ben was the masked name, but they gave good enough reasoning for it (he thought they were all dead anyway and wanted them to go out like heroes) and a good enough reason for why he helped Reece anyway.

I didn't have a huge problem with that twist, but as others mentioned I wish that actor could have stayed on.

I think when the wife and daughter were killed he felt his death was a foregone conclusion. He was just riding it out to get as much redemption for himself before Reese figured it out.

I felt like it was a worthwhile investment of roughly 8 hours of my viewing time.

Overall I enjoyed it and would say it's good, but has some flaws.

Myself and several people I recommended it to all finished within 2-3 days if that tells you anything.

Agreed. If you are into violent revenge stories then you will like it more than others. There's a lot of darkness and confusion for the main character that can be hit or miss. Sometimes I feel his pain a little more through those scenes and other times it's a bit much...maybe too frequent and drags a bit. But overall it plays well.

I read the book when it came out and each book after. I also love this genre...Rapp, Harvath, Reacher and a whole bunch more. I'm about to start a reread of the first book. A whole lot more story they can tell if they want. It's also not a bad way to end a single season show.

I view this show as a much darker and violent version of the Reacher show on Prime. Both are about basically unstoppable forces wrecking shite. Reacher is a bit more light hearted in tone and I remember laughing a good bit more at the scenes. The only laughs I remember from Terminal List was after a brutal revenge kill and the laughter was from shocked awesomeness as opposed to actual comedy.

i watched the first episode last friday to test the waters. figured it might be up her alley so waited for her to get home. rewatched it with her and then moved on to episode 2.

then 3 solid days of 4th activities and she went out of town with the kids again. then when she gets back tomorrow, she's bringing her SiL and niece and newphew with her. i'll never get to finish this show.

My wife fell asleep a couple minutes into the first episode. So I binged the whole season over the weekend. I told her I'll happily rewatch it when she is ready. She's not big on binging shows where we rarely watch more than two episodes of anything in a setting unless we're getting near the end. I didn't want to wait on this one.

I would be so shocked if this is any good. "Serious" Chris Pratt just hasn't worked as a leading man and his other project with Amazon was awful. I wish he'd lean into comedies again.

Can we just visit this post for a moment to say how off it was. Pratt isn't going to win an Oscar for it but I thought he did a damn good job in this completely serious role. He phoned it in on the last Jurassic World but you could tell this was a passion project for him. I hope he is in this role for many seasons to come.

I’m not reading this thread because I’m still early in the series.

But has it been said yet that Pratt looks eerily like Tom Brady? Guy is a doppelgänger in this.

The ending definitely hinted at the direction that the second book goes so I could absolutely see another season.

I usually don’t binge but will deliberately space them out a little bit to make it last.

Nope, couldn’t stop, too intense.

Anybody notice Ben was killed off almost the same way big Pussy was in Sopranos?

I find it interesting that half the episodes were directed by African Americans. It’s always interesting that diversity means nothing if it doesn't further a leftist agenda.
