I'd be really disappointed if Rey took the Anakin role here. Innocent, powerful child who has control of the force easily. And his/her tragic past leads him/her to the dark side. Please, no.

But if he is referring to Kylo, I hope it means Kylo is actually FAR more powerful than how he appeared in TFA.

Keep in mind that he did freeze a laser blast in midair, and kept it frozen in until he left. We hadn't see any Jedi or Sith do that. Now granted, he did get he arse kicked by an untrained force user later on (while injured), but still that was pretty darn impressive.

Luke says, "I've seen this raw strength only once before. It didn't scare me enough then." Who is he referring to?

What if he is referring to Rey and worried about her turning to the dark side, just as Anakin?

I wasn't nearly as bothered by his inconsistent control of the powers as others were. Seemed fitting.

I thought he was talking to Rey, implied after she had split the rock.

That's what I mean. He definitely appears powerful in the beginning of the movie, stopping lasers and mind-torturing Poe. But then he can't stop Chewy from shooting him, and even Finn holds his own for a bit before Rey finishes him off.

Obviously, he still has much training to do, but the "raw power" Luke and Snoke talk about just didn't seem to be present in TFA with Kylo.

I have to disagree here because like I said before, raw power =/= fully realized. Ren is hampered by his inability to control his emotions. With proper training, he'd be a force (giggle) to be reckoned with, on par with Vader, I'm sure. ETA: You don't think he'd be emotionally distracted after killing his father? Would lead to him not seeing the Chewy shot and his response to Rey when confronted with someone who's command over the force is probably on his same level.

Just think about an athlete who has all the talent in the world, but can't get their head out of their arse when it comes to practice and studying, or can't get out of their way with legal problems. Talent only gets you so far if you're aren't willing or prepared to refine it.

Yeah, I agree. I think freezing the laser blast shows he has the "raw power". But I think deep down killing his father messed him up emotionally, which is why Chewy was able to blast him while he was distracted. And then when you factor in his blaster wound, on top of his emotional distress, he definitely wasn't at the top of his game when he confronted Rey (who he seemed to have some sort of connection to, which probably also messed with him).

i dont think most of the people that call this out on an internet message board are similar to the SJWs you see acting retarded on youtube. I love watching movies of all types for entertainments.

But I also am not blind to the fact of the media and political scenes push to hide where the majority of the countries problems are coming from. While they push the agenda of the evil white male who is the most productive member of society.

But this is star wars frick that topic.

I hope they don't water down the force powers. In that trailer Rey was just kind of cracking some rocks and Luke looked like he was about to shite his pants. I'm hoping she was making like a tsunami or some shite that we couldn't see.
If we could only get a scene like in Force Unleashed, with a Jedi bringing down a Star Destroyer with the force.

Can't argue that Kylo is an emotional mess. The last 30 minutes of TFA just makes it seem like Rey is much more powerful than Kylo, especially when it comes to the mental use of the Force. And she does it all without knowing what the hell she is capable of, at least Kylo has a grasp of the basics.

Clearly they had to reiterate that Kylo was wounded in those scenes to knock him down a peg, but I've always thought that Han wanted Kylo to kill him, and Kylo was just doing what he knew he had to do. I guess it made me think Kylo was actually emotionally stable in that moment.

Stupid question here but is the plan to have The Last Jedi and then one more movie to wrap up a trilogy or are they just going to pump out new Star Wars movies (Not spin-offs) every two years for the foreseeable future?

The main franchise will be the trilogies for now.

Star Wars Stories will be the Rogue One, Han Solo, Boba Fett stuff

Edit: To clarify, Episode 10-12 aren't announced yet.

But they will be. Nothing is stopping Disney from a quadrilogy or quintet besides tradition.

When I rewatched that scene right before he ran Han through, his speech led me to believe that he was being torn apart internally about what he was about to do, but this is what Snoke demanded of him to prove his loyalty.

I would support another prequel trilogy. I don't want to see the main saga keep going into infinity. I like Star Wars separated into eras. Let the EU content fill out what the movies don't cover. I don't want to see 6 films with Rey/Poe/Finn.

They need to give it a break for a few years before jumping into a new trilogy.

But I'd also be fine with them being done with the trilogies for another decade or more. I would like a film on the old republic, though.

No he doesn't. He toys with Finn.
