The smartest person on game of thrones right now is Cersei.

Yeah, a real genius sends a hitman to kill his two best friends. Cersei is easily the dumbest of the 4 major Lannisters.

You're a damn fool if you don't think she has an ulterior motive sending bronn north. I refuse to believe the writers are making cersei that stupid

You know who else does something like that? The mafia.

But they have loyalty to the Don. Bronn has no such loyalty to Cersei.

Bron is no one's best friend. Bron is a mercenary and like the other guy says, gangsters send other gangsters to kill their friends all the time.

And in terms of Cersei being "dumb". Well right now while the others are bickering and testing loyalties, she's the only one with a plan.

Sansa is probably the biggest victim of the subpar writing of these later seasons.

Her cunningness was displayed in the worst subplot of the entire show( littlefinger trash last season)

Agreed. She's been disillusioned and is no longer the naive brat that she was earlier in the show, but trying to push her as a cunning strategist is a forced arc.

I honestly can’t remember her chapters in the latter books that much. Not sure if Martin did a better job of this.

In the books she's still fairly helpless last Martin left off as far as I remember. It's left as possible that her arc is just starting to turn.

I don’t understand how the show is attempting to declare that Sansa is now the smartest person in Westeros. What exactly has she done that makes everyone think she is?

Everything she told Jon about Ramsay before BotB was right and he almost died for not listening to her.

I don't know if sansa is all that smart or not but I do know she took some valuable lessons from Cersei and as each episode passes, sansa becomes more and more like her. Which for sansa's sake, is a good thing.

She said "dont do what he wants you to do". When Jon asked wth that meant she had no idea, just kept babbling about how he doesn't know Ramsey. But she did decide that he didn't need to know that an entire army may be coming to help. Her stupidity cost thousands of mens lives, and nearly got Jon killed.

little finger has literally been teaching her how to be this way for over 7 years. She's easily the most cunning person in the show now imo.

She really couldn't say if Littlefinger was actually going to show up. He's the guy that dumped her off with Ramsay in the first place. As far as she was concerned he was just as likely to side with the Boltons if it served his purposes.

One of the biggest reasons Jon wanted to attack right then was to save Rickon and Sansa correctly told him that Ramsay was never going to let the true heir of Winterfell live regardless of what they did. Ramsay was used Rickon to draw Jon into battle. Jon didn't almost die b/c of Sansa. He almost died b/c he was too eager for a fight he was ill prepared to start.

I don't think sansa is the most cunning but she is learning and has taken valuable lessons from others, including Cersei. And speaking of Cersei, she is far and away the most cunning woman alive and may now even be more cunning than varys himself.

Sansa's not in Cerseis' weight class, primarily because sansa hasn't yet learned to wield her vagina.

Tactically from his view he was correct. Attacking at that point with the men he had made the most sense. I'm sure if the possibility of a few thousand knights showing up was floated to him, he would have made a different decision, and probably waited.

I'll give her credit for being a survivor - her backstory is to be constantly shat upon by the writers.

That said, it hasn't given us any insight to her being "smart". I don't know if this is the writers or showrunners suddenly realizing that Sansa has been a punching bag since her dad's head was chopped off in season one or what, but it does feel forced.

Everyone didn’t say this. Unless I’m forgetting something, only her sister did.
