I remember that episode. Never rewatched it after I saw it that one time. Definitely would be very upsetting to anyone even slightly claustrophobic

The exorcist when I was a bit older and they had that "remake" of it. Somewhere around 2000ish.

IT scared the shite out of my 8yr old self. Still not sure why my mom allowed me to watch that.

Nightmare on Elm Street and The Thing when younger.

Strangers and It Follows as adult. Mostly Strangers because "you were home" is so messed up.

Loved this movie. And yeah, the ending is kind of disturbing.

Jacob's Ladder. I can't believe they're remaking it. There's one scene that never fails to give me chills, and I've seen it dozens of times.

Jump scares don't really mess with me. Jacob's ladder fricked with my head for a good week or two. It's just dreadful

The badadok did something similar with how it treats mental illnesses

I am a huge vagina when it comes to scary movies and Paranormal Activity about did me in.

I was near hyperventilating.

Also, watching Scream as like an 8 year old with my brothers and sisters had me not sleeping for a couple nights.

I saw The Ring in theaters when I was around 12 or so. That movie scared the shite out of me. I think the thing that made the movie so terrifying is that if I was scared as a kid I would just go to sleep with the tv on. Not after that movie. I was terrified of the TV.

ETA: this list is obviously excluding documentaries, because I've seen documentaries that have kept me awake at night.

Which ones?

High Tension for me. I have never been more stressed out during an entire movie since. It's got a good ending too.

Event Horizon

Watched this freshman year, in my dorm, over Thanksgiving Holiday. I think I was the only one there. Going to the basement to wash clothes there was a long, dimly lit hall.
To this day I think there was a little girl at the end of the hall jumping rope and singing "1, 2, we're coming for you. 3, 4...." Not a line from that movie but that movie fricked my psyche.

I remember when I was 10-11, I used to watch marathons of scary movies on tv. Along with the movies others have mentioned...

1. Exorcism of Emily Rose
2. Cats Eye
3. Children of the Corn

Exorcist 3

I'm glad this got mentioned. Unnerving themes and very well-acted. The nurse doing her rounds scene still scares the shite out of me.

And a second on Blair Witch 2. Once it got going it was scary as hell - more than the first for me. The lead actress looked believably frightened out of her mind. I can't imagine how an IRL claustrophobic could get through the tunnel sequence.

The Exorcist really bothered me when I saw it, I was around 12 or so... it was on TV sometime before 1980. Even with editing, it was pretty rough- they just took out the vulgarity and bad language, and for some reason those scenes actually lightened the mood later on for me.

Saw Race With The Devil, that was pretty rough just with the concept of devil worshipping.
