I looked at the list and realized 75+ of the movies I never seen and/or heard of. I guess I got to pick a few and watch

I would have included his performance in “the way way back”. He should have been Oscar nominated for that.

This is correct. And would be my go to choice, but there are others.

That was an absolutely brilliant portrayal. Vastly underrated. Nailing that character as a boy who never grew, making him likable, but layering on some desperation and pathos. Just an excellent character all around.

If you wanted to do an improv performance, Sasha Baron Cohen as Borat is the clear answer.

I'm fine with Ferrell being on there as Burgundy, that was a great role/performance. But Borat is a great answer. Definitely should be on there if you're putting Jack Black/School of Rock on there.

Definitely a couple in there for the sake of diversity that I'd rather have Borat in over.

Unless I missed it, Josh Brolin for quite a few roles is another snub.

I just don’t know how Sasha didn’t break down laughing his arse off when he came down with the bag of his own shite and inviting the prostitute to dine with them. A truly great performance that he had to get in a single take.

he’s included in a list of honorable mentions (for inherent vice)

Also…borat is unfunny garbage I have no idea how people enjoy that. However cohen was fantastic in talladega nights

If they’re doing comedic performances RDJ should definitely be in there for tropic thunder, but that would probably spark some controversy

There's 2 actors on the list who I would have selected different movies.

Russell Crowe -- My choice would be A Beautiful Mind. Thought the performance was outstanding & sad that he lost out on the Oscar to Denzel.

Phillip Seymour Hoffman -- Charlie Wilson's War where he played Greek CIA agent Gust Avrakotos. Where he goes back and forth with Hanks was just incredible.

It’s a sobering film on the realities of the business for aspiring actors/actresses. Both leads are alternate versions of the same person, the original moving to Hollywood and adopting a new identity with hopes of becoming a star. Everything is interpersonal conflict, cheating/murder/suicide is who I am vs who I’m pretending to be and the two clashing, It’s well thought out and abstract, and likely very relevant for anyone in Hollywood, but for the general public it’s meh. Just my interpretation, but seems right

No McConaughey for Interstellar

McConaughey should've definitely made it for Dallas Buyers Club or Killer Joe.
