Yes. It would have been rude
Now, you are about to say how do I know they didn't see it? Which we both know is ridiculous to ask how I know someone didn't notice a cell phone light 20 rows behind them with a giant movie screen in front of them

Then what you did was rude. Your ability to get away with it does not qualify if it is or is not rude. If you do something illegal, but nobody sees you, you still did something illegal, it is not somehow legal.

Surprise, no I don't care. It has no bearing on whether or not your act was rude.

It is only rude if it harms or negatively affects someone's viewing experience. I know you know that

Is filming a movie in an empty theater still illegal?
Posted on 12/28/16 at 5:47 pm to GoCrazyAuburn
You are consciously doing something that can distract and ruin the movie for the others in there. Regardless of whether or not it did so, you were being inconsiderate and rude.
Posted on 12/28/16 at 5:53 pm to GoCrazyAuburn
Nope
The act of using your phone in a theater is not rude, it is the result of it distracting others. If using said phone causes no distraction, it is not rude
Simply concept. Your legality analysis is apples to oranges

If you want to keep arguing trees don't make a sound when they fall if nobody hears them, go for it, but you won't gain much traction.

Alright dude. Who gives a frick?
I am the rudest a-hole in the world for doing something that didn't affect others
Now back to the point of my post, I didn't enjoy the movie

Yep.
You were using your phone in a Rogue One showing. Many of those showings have been sold out or at the very least 3/4 full theaters. Your "if it didn't distract anyone then it doesn't matter" BS is irrelevant knowing it likely did in that setting.
And considering the theater makes it a point to tell you to get the frick off your phone, yes it's rude.

There was 10 total people. Nobody within 20 rows
Why don't you read what others write before judging you rude bitch
And the movie also tells you not to sneak candy in your purse, but we all know you do

After a few days the scenes I most want to see again were at Vader's castle.

I've read plenty. And have read enough of your BS to know that you're not even an entertaining troll. That must be terribly disappointing.

Well bless your little heart.

Just watched it, via torrent.
I can definitely understand why that one guy fell asleep in the theater during the movie, and woke up after it had closed. This is the most boring Star Wars movie that could have possibly been made. I really didn't think it was possible, but they apparently went all out. I didn't care about any of the characters and some of the plot lines were painfully uninteresting. BTW, why does Forrest Whitaker stay and die on the planet that gets Death Star tested? That made no sense at all.
To me, the lack of white people was about marketing to the worldwide audience, and not a grand jewish/communist conspiracy. I mean, shite. Nothing jerks off Asians more than a blind dude with a staff. I'm sure this movie will kill it over there.
And really, it's Star Wars. It could be 2 hours of monkeys throwing little balls of shite at each other and it would still gross $1 bil. worldwide. And that's a crime, because it only encourages more of the same.
It didn't suck, exactly, but it was boring as hell. The droid was probably the best character.

Not if Porkins had turned up in his
XL-wing.
Poor bastard can communicate with the rebel base post-mortem in Ep IV, but noooooo expensive CGI for a fat guy 40 yrs later.
Pfffttt.

You're crazy. I just saw it today and this is a solid movie. Not perfect but damn good. I went in with low expectations and came out very entertained.
Knowing Carrie died a couple of days ago made the final scene extremely moving for me. I teared up not gonna lie. Theatre was packed and many applauded when it ended.

I think it was ok. But when I went to see it at elmwood a couple of weeks ago there was this weird looking dude planting candy crush on his pink iPhone the whole time. It kept taking me out of the movie. I should try watching again.

There's no way he was making it to the ship. Dude had two makeshift metal legs, was using a walking stick, and could barely breathe. They barely made it to safety as it was.
