Ah the cool nerds in the room. There are always people who will rag on whatever is done. Thought the movie was pretty good considering the limitation they needed to work through.

Man these guys really get up their own asses with the contrarian shite. I swear they wait to see what the RT score is and then go the opposite, because it shows they're smart and know movies. The plinket reviews were good but I think I'm done with this channel, it's just gotten to sound like a bunch of college aged kids trying to sound intelligent.

Ugh, that guy has got the most grating voice, personality, opinions and appearance.

How dare you. That man is a national treasure.
But yeah, I don't find myself agreeing with Rich all that much either, but his observations are still hilarious.

And the shitty part is they do a show on video games where it's him and Jack. Jack is great and usually has interesting things to say but I can't suffer through the Rich Evans thinking he's funny portions. Ugh...

I find your opinion disturbing.

Not to harp on this too much, but it seems like Rich just looked at Mike and said "people like him and think he's funny, if I try to be him then people will like me too".
Every single thing he says or mannerism he exudes seems like a shitty impression of Mike. He's hard to watch cause I feel sorry for him and want to punch him in the face at the same time.

I really just don't know what they would do for a Han movie. I have no doubt a good one could get made, but it just seems like it would be a Transporter movie in space
The meeting of chewy and why he owes a life debt, trouble with the Hutt, other random bounty hunters/scum, many random women, acquiring the falcon...could be epic imo lol

My .02 cents:
- This movie puts the War in Star Wars. Love the way they showed that the rebellion was down for some black ops too.
- When I saw Star Wars as a kid, Vader was scary. As an adult I lost that fear. This movie made Vader scary again.
- Love that exactly zero effort was made to give any of the main cast members a happy ending.
The Forbes review nailed it when they said "It was not necessary to make this film and tell this story, but it’s so well done that by the end it feels necessary."

Which is why he isn't usually allowed on Half in the Bag unless it's comic book or Star Wars related (and of course being scripted as Plinkett). He'll try to highjack the review at any given point. He once did that from behind the camera by placing an inappropriate joke in the middle of it, and Mike went off on him saying it's reasons like this he's not allowed to review on their show.
It's good for Best of the Worst when they're only reviewing pure shite (for the most part), but he doesn't have any real insight on narrative and filmmaking as a whole. He's only good for throwing shite at the screen, which isn't good if they are reviewing half way decent movies.

I loved this movie... the unapologetically dark/gritty story and tone; the seamless tie in to ANH; and as others have said, Darth Vader... chills.
I thought the score & CGI were just fine but I'm admittedly not as nitpicky about that kind of thing

They made some pretty viral videos with comical (and insightful) reviews of the prequels. Since then they just bitch about lack of originality in Hollywood and vaguely allude to their film-making experience. Near as i can tell from the wiki page, they got film degrees from community college and worked on a few commercials then declared themselves experts.

I do. I want an R rated star wars anthology.

FIFY
This movie was the weakest non-prequel if you take out Vader's long sought after screen time.

You say that like it's a bad thing.

Just calling it like I see it. The lack of memorable characters and other shortcomings have already been stated in this thread so I won't rehash but it's an average movie that drags on unto a worthwhile, nostalgic payoff

Just got back from it. Second half was amazing. I even shed a tear at the end. The first half was pretty boring. I actually fell asleep when the guy was suppose to assassinate the girls dad. I jumped up when they shot the people he was with. After that I was awake the whole time. Reminded me of a good old fashioned war movie. Big Red One.
