The scene was very hard to interpret.
See my post above. It was their "second chance" to correct their mistakes from the first send off scene where she was crying on her bed as a girl (and threw the watch)
Here it is:

From the narrative's perspective: she was giving Cooper the send off blessing they both always wanted. The previous send off was rife with anger. That drove cooper to come back and drove murph to solve to equation out of regret.
They had their second chance and she didn't want to miss it. This was her blessing to him.

I think he said two weeks honestly, and unknown knight seems to remember the same. I'll look out for that when I see it again in 2 weeks.

it was a two year trip.
Cooper only waited there, working on TARS and drinking beer for a couple weeks - I didn't pick up on the "2 years" you're citing (and, in fairness to you, I see "2 years" in other places) - so maybe she's coming from a time dilation location where 2 weeks to Saturn is 2 years relative to Murph.

Yeah, I'm going to try to get to it again this week (this time in IMAX) to see if I like the ending better.
I think part of the problem with a movie this big is SO MUCH is being thrown at you, following the storyline is difficult because you are in awe of the the cinematography.
I was just disappointed with the ending (and doyle's death). It felt disjointed, but that could well have been a let down after the ride we had been on.

You won't hear any dialog in IMAX ![](https://images.tigerdroppings.com/Images/Icons/IconLOL.gif)

Was it? I got the sense that she was still holding a grudge.
Cooper is scrambling to tell her that it was him communicating with her the whole time. She smiles and tells him that despite no one believing her, she knew the truth. She gives him a reason to leave and not stick around to meet his ancestors. She manages to show him that she still had a full life without him. There was nothing left for Cooper there, and she well knew that.

Here's something I want to bring up - the cinematography looked terrible in the last couple of trailers (of course I'm watching those on a 40" television and a 23" computer monitor) - all we have is GPX here (and I'm not sure that's even fake IMAX) - and it was AWESOME on the big screen - there were only a couple of times the texture and lighting made it obvious that the flight or planetery scenes were CGI and those were even fleeting.
Helped with the immersive experience. Even the tesseract was done fairly well, although it was more obviously CGI.

One thing I really like about the cinematography is that they rarely had a full shot of the Endurance. They made it look like the cameras you see on the shuttles, in that that's the best shot NASA can get off of the sides, and it added a bit of authenticity to it. If they actually recorded the mission and stuck cameras on the side of the vessel, it would look a lot like that.

The visuals were jaw-dropping on 70mm IMAX. I really wish every had access to one of those theaters, because that's how Nolan intended the movie to be seen.

I agree. I had wanted to see it on IMAX but my family hates loud movies so we settled on a regular theater. I am looking forward to seeing it on the gigantica screen.

Plus the sound in the IMAX theaters is amazing. We have an Omni-MAX theater that I would kill to see it one. They only play science movies on it though.

I could be wrong but I remember after he woke up the doctor told him his daughter was coming to see him and it was a two year trip.
The nurse told Cooper that Murph had been in cryosleep for nearly two years. Earlier in the film, the physician told Cooper that Murph would be arriving at the station in two weeks.

and they put here in cryosleep to preserve her life right? because she "knew" he would be coming back

AlxTgr your GPX wouldn't happen to be in Central Louisiana, would it?

I think it was implied she was holding out - a little - on the chance he would come back in time.

You thought that looked good? It wasn't Gravity quality. IMHO of course.

i saw it the second time in IMAX and i enjoyed it a ton more the upon repeat viewing. i still don't care for the "lost" ending but I had time to analyze a lot more.
I also understood her desire to see him, thank him, bury the hatchet, and not have him see her die better the second time around. The family reaction was a bit odd, but negligible.
and it was two weeks to get there, not years.

Why did they crash Coop in the beginning of the movie?
Edit: shite just saw the page before this one.
