Yea my brother at dinner with my mom and dad was like yea lets all go see Wolf of Wall Street tomorrow at 6.

I had read a review, and knew there was no way I was going to see it with them. I got cornered and everyone was like you have no excuse not to go with us why don't you want to go? Luckily I made one up on the spot, I should have never told my brother but I couldn't let him sit there for 3 hours.

Wow 8/10 doesn't deserve a theatre viewing? Harsh.

Saw it last night... Great movie. But no shite in less than 30 minutes, I counted 15 people that left the movie, because of how vulgar it is

Well. . . I have a very different opinion about The Wolf of Wall Street than most on this board. I've given it some thought, and I think Wolf is the worst Scorsese movie I've seen (granted, there are many I haven't seen). It certainly doesn't compare to Scorsese's great works (Taxi Driver, Raging Bull, Goodfellas, The Departed, etc.), and IMO it's not in the same ballpark as some of this year's likely Best Picture candidates (American Hustle, 12 Years a Slave).

Some thoughts on the movie. It was all over the place. It was long, and unlike many people, the time did not fly by for me - it dragged on. I didn't find any of the performances to be great. Leo was good, as always, but this performance isn't in the same zip code as his previous masterworks (The Aviator, The Departed). If he wins Best Actor for this, it will be a make-up award for past robberies. Hill was good, nothing special. And Robbie was terrible. I don't know what everyone saw in her performance (apart from her undeniably sexy body), but it was not good.

There were some funny moments in the movie, but not that many. Scorsese is - well, should be - better than physical humor: jerking off, sticking candles in asses, guys paralyzed by drugs, etc. I don't find any of that shite funny. It felt like amateur hour. . . Then again, I'm sure most audiences enjoy that stuff. They should go watch Grudge Match or something.

There were a few scenes I thought were great and should have had a place in a much better movie: the early scene with McConaughey, the yacht scene with the FBI, the speech re: Steve Madden IPO. But overall, I think Scorsese really missed an opportunity with this one.

Overall score: 6/10.

Solid review.

My exact thought was that Wolf was one part Goodfellas, one part blow, and two parts soft-core Porn.

I thought the movie was pretty good. The titties and drugs didn't do much for me because it was expected and became routine.

Spoiler alert...

What I meant was a movie that was narrated and told the story of someone intrigued by a certain lifestyle. Rose to success by illegal means and tasted the "high life" then was put in a position to rat out his buddies from the good ole days...sounds familiar? Goodfellas or wolf???

Oh yeah, who directed these 2 movies?

Just got back from the movie. frickING GREAT MOVIE. One of the most entertaining, and funniest movies I have seen in a while. Never lost interest at all in 3 hours.

I thought that Decaprio and Hill were awesome. Their performances werent anything too dynamic, but there roles did not require such. They did what they needed to do to in order to completely fulfill their roles, and it entertained the shite out of me. I don't give a frick if they win Oscars or not, I enjoyed it.

Scorsese does it again.

Also, really dug the Allen Toussaint tune to end the movie/start the credits.

Truer words never been written. A great guy movie. Leo doing coke out of a hooker arse. And his wife was banging, with a full frontal shot.
