I figured they found the note after searching the room. Jordan was too sloppy at that point to cover his tracks and the FBI wouldve been suspicious that he tipped Donnie off by the way to conversation went down
Could be wrong though, book readers could maybe clear it up?

watching the movie though to me it felt like Donnie ratted him out. what made me believe that was his reaction when he told Donnie he was wired. Donnie looked pissed off and totally betrayed. his reaction lead me to think he ratted Jordan out. that was my interpretation could be wrong though.

If he did it would be the biggest dick move possible, which is totally believable coming from Donnie

I thought this movie was awesome. Leo was incredible in it. He deserves an award for it. I couldn't decide if they found it or Donnie ratted. I went with they found it because didn't feel like Donnie would do that.

I kind of felt the same way too. But, then again, one of the main themes was in the end the only one that matters is yourself.

Only reason I thought Donnie ratted was because when the Feds raid the office they show him deleting files but everyone seems to get busted but him. They just show him in his office

The ending was sloppy. Someone who watched the movie and had no idea what happened in real life would be perfectly reasonable in assuming that Donnie cut a deal with the Feds.
In real life he spent just about as much time in prison as Belfort, so I don't see how that could be the case. Also, the firm basically died at the same time as Belfort's arrest.
Real life Donnie should be pissed at Scorcese. He isn't nearly as ugly as Jonah Hill in the movie

That's what I thought too.
I never understand how people can't walk away. After that incident with the yacht you think he would have retired. Instead he lost it all.
