To get to #10 ALL TIME it has to reach

10 Spider-Man 2 $373,585,825

which is only $49,286,032 away, or at the rate it is going next weekend

$9,629,366 on a freaking Tuesday, first day it falls below 8 digits and holding strong.

$333,929,159 12 day total passing up Forrest Gump and the lion king to settle in the #16 spot all time

I think it could hit 400 million by sunday or monday.

Needs another 60-80 mil weekend to keep the steam going. Mummy/Xfiles might knock it a good bit, then Pineapple Express next weekend.

I see it fizzling out between 475-500

The only reason The Dark Knight is such a BIG HIT is because Heath Ledger died before it came out.

Get back to watching shitty movies like Sex and the City and Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants.

Don't worry, it won't pass your precious Titanic, so you can still validate seeing that crap 10 times in the theater.

Mummy? Eh....maybe. It is getting horrible reviews.

And X Files BOMBED last weekend (not surprising to me at all though).

Pineapple Express could beat it next week in the box office. It still beat Step Brothers last weekend though, but it was still riding the initial release a week earlier. It will have died down by the time Pineapple Express comes out next Friday.

The only reason Titanic was such a BIG HIT is because 13 year-old girls have terrible taste in film.

I guess I didn't realize Heath was so loved. Has he ever had a movie that made half of what TDK will finish with?

The first two films in the franchise, 1999's The Mummy and 2001's The Mummy Returns, opened to $43.4M and $68.1M, respectively. That would translate to $60M and $85M at today's ticket prices

That's what I was thinking. I know they aren't great movies, but if Eddie Murphy's shite can get people into theaters I'm sure this can.

Too bad Brendan Frasier didn't die right before it came out or it'd make $400mil EASY

Also, the Box office Guru is predicting a 45% drop from last weekend's number, giving TDK $41 million this weekend.

That would put it at $391 million after this weekend

A lot of the people I work with haven't seen it yet and are waiting for the crowds at the theatres to go see it. Even my parents are thinking about going to see it.

I'm defnitely in that boat. Not so much the crowds, but just haven't had time yet to go see it. I saw the first Tim Burton Batman several times at the theater (I was in college then and had more free time.) I've been Jonesing to see this flick from the moment the last frame ended on the last movie, so I'll definitely add my cash to the pile in the next few weeks for sure.
