The show would have been better if Jim had a long term AIDS complication

The Jim and Pam subplot ruined the show for the first couple seasons. Seasons 3-4 are the best.
Season 1 the show is finding its feet. Seasons 2-6.5 and some of the best comedy TV ever.
And while Michael leaving obviously lead to a decline in quality. I’d argue once Pam and Jim got married, the show was never the same.
Also the whole last season their relationship is just so awkward and even the “resolution” didn’t sit well.

These threads are retarded. Not liking Jim is one thing, but trying to act like Roy and Dwight are innocent victims is ridiculous. It’s the Office equivalent of Johnny was a good guy in The Karate Kid ( love Johnny in Cobra Kai, but he learned from his mistakes).

Causing a chain reaction vomit fest - basically on purpose.
Knocking coworkers onto the ground.
The coup de grâce, shooting a coworker with a tranquilizer dart, and all that followed.
Totally innocent

Roy works hard in an office warehouse and has a fiancee that works as a receptionist. Jim, a salesman, goes out of his way to flirt with Roy's fiancee all day. Roy overlooks it and is happy she has a friend.
Then, as the wedding approaches, and after the deposits are made, Jim confesses his feelings to Pam and kisses her.
They were not married. IMO Pam is still fair game at that point.

The show always made Roy look like a jackass though.
He didn't show Pam attention, would never set a wedding date, didn't support her wanting to do more with her life (Art School), leaving her to go away on weekends with his friends, and gets drunk with his brother all the time. Didn't he forget her somewhere on a trip or something??
So yeah, the show sprinkled in some justification for Pam to call off the wedding, not just about Jim.
Roy won in the end though I guess with starting the concrete company (I think), hot wife, and big house.

Erin > Pam
The whole Erin/Nardog thing was horrible now looking back at it.
Seems the writers had no ideas on what to do.
And yes, Erin > Pam. Pam seems like she would be boring as hell in the sack. Erin seems adventurous.

He likes to play golf, and he likes betting on golf. Seems like a cool arse guy in real life. He rode the wave and enjoyed himself.
Here's a good golf video with Kevin and Eric Anders. Pretty entertaining. Pretty cool course too.

Yep.
-Never set a date, and only DID set a date when he was hammered on the booze cruise adn the captain was talkign abotu getting engaged so he set one right then and there.
-Didn't support her doing anything relating to art like she wanted
-Constantly getting drunk with his buddies
-Didn't pay her any attention at home, as evidenced by him being so pumped Jim was her friend and give her someone to talk to during the day so she woudln't talk as much when she got home
-He left her at the hockey game on their first date
-They were together fro what, like 9 yeras or something without ever actually setting a wedding date?
This is your textbook classic case of two small town peopel with zero ambition or desire to escape that same small town so they get together out of convenience more than anything else then just kind of coast along with it until soething happens; whether that something is marriage/cheating/breaking it off/pregnancy/whatever.
As you said, it worked out for the best for both of them in the end which is great for all invovled. But yeah it's not like Pam wasn't given a billion reasons to leave him already before Jim
