When we got out all 10 of us went for food and drinks and the first 10 minutes was about the Dune footage before anyone even mentioned the Odyssey. 4 people hadn't seen part 1 or 2 but they vowed to watch them and we all penciled in another trip back to Georgia to watch it in 70mm. I liked 1 & 2 but I wasn't planning seeing 3 in a theater, we don't see many movies in the theater, preferring to watch most in our HT but within a minute of the clip I decided this is not just a theater movie but a 70mm experience I gotta have.
It may be the only 4 minutes worth watching in the entire movie but that 4 minutes is incredible.

Which is 100% correct.
Disregarding that clearly Odysseus is making emotional statement regretting his decisions he still didn’t call Sinon a great warrior he said a great soldier
Sinon unquestioningly followed the commanders orders to Sinon’s death.
That doesn’t make one a good warrior. It can be argued that that could be a good soldier.

That’s great to hear. I’m doing a rewatch on Wednesday in 70mm after watching on normal IMAX first so I’m very much looking forward to watching it. Dune is a must watch in IMAX because Denis doesn’t include the IMAX aspect ratios for streaming or physical release.

I think I figured out why you had a problem with the way Chris nolan handled language. You have a poor grasp of the modern English language.
When one is contrasting the typical usage of solider vs warrior particularly in this setting they clearly have different connotations and uses.
Soldier would be typical of enlisted grunts. Warrior would be the key factor that wins the war.
Particularly when discussing something like Greek mythology. Ie achilles or hector are warriors. Random conscripted grunts-soldiers.
Achilles is a great warrior but a notoriously terrible soldier. Due to disagreements with those above him he refused to fight. However when he did he fought for personal glory and was an incredible Warrior.
Sinon in this movie followed every order gave to Sinon. At what appears to be the age of 7 gets conscripted. Even when being made to be a sacrifice Sinon unquestioning did what was asked. Immediately without striking a Trojan was killed. Terrible warrior. Good solider.

lol the sheer hypocrisy and projection is fascinating from you soulless monsters. You introduced “warrior” which was never mentioned in the movie. Probably a mistake on your part but now you’re dishonestly trying to retroactively change the original conversation. I simply stated the facts of what Odysseus called him, you know you lied about it and are now scrambling to try a rationalize it. You failed btw

Note, most IMAX theaters showed Dune 1/2 in 1.9:1 and did not shift to 1.43:1. To get the director's intent, you need to search for a theater that does 1.43:1.
16:9 is close enough to 1.9:1 (normal Imax aspect ratio) for goverment work but 1.43:1 is a whole different ball game with the unusually tall picture, the opposite of scope pictures so often used for epic films which are in the 2:35:1 ratio.
I assume you know the 70mm print of The Odyssey is all 1.43:1, which Nolan took full advantage of.

The point made with Achilles is lost with Sinon.
Achilles gave his life for glory. When his ghost was asked by Odysseus, Achilles tells him that in retrospect he would rather have toiled on a farm for a day in obscurity, than rule for eternity with the dead.
IOW, being alive in any capacity is better than being remembered. . .even forever.
Achilles came to despise his desire for glory in life, it was worthless.
The point with Sinon was just "be careful who you send to war, I am dead for your bullshite."
Completely different meanings, and I feel what Nolan went with was dramatically lesser than the source.
Rest of the movie was absolute tits, though

Warrior was introduced because the Twitter rumor was that Juno was Achilles and in this thread

Please ask ANYONE around you what the difference between a soldier and a warrior is.
This is not really a question.
There CAN be overlap.
But not always.
And clearly when the only scene of sinan is being filled with arrows and not striking a Trojan soldier this is not one of those times.

Not the only scene. You didn’t see the movie and you don’t know the difference between soldier and warrior. On top of that you previously used them interchangeably until you were called on your lie then tried to reframe your statements.
