Nolan is probably my fourth favorite director of all time behind Kubrick, David Lynch, and Martin Scorsese. Having said that, this film looks awful and Lupita is the least of the reasons why. Anne Hathaway and Matt Damon seem way more miscast to me. And it just doesn't look good. It looks like AI slop, not IMAX brilliance. The giant soldiers do look good though.

Didn’t Leguizamo say that an actor playing a different ethnicity is cultural appropriation?

He did. Even though he once played an Italian plumber.

Lucky, mine is at 10:55pm in digital IMAX so I won’t be getting out until 2:20am. Have 70mm IMAX tickets 7:30am on 7/22 too so hopefully it’s as good as they say.

70mm IMAX would be sick

I went with standard 70mm after going back and forth for a week between standard 70mm, standard imax, and Dolby. Hopefully it’s a cool experience

Before this month, the closest 70mm IMAX to me was 3 hours away in Indianapolis. Thankfully they recently upgraded a Cinemark in the Chicago suburbs to 70mm IMAX so I won’t have to make that drive again. I will say it was worth it to see Interstellar there last year.

That’s probably what I would have done given the choice, except the standard 70mm theater near me has terrible seats. You can always rewatch in IMAX to compare.

Read early reviews. This film looks and is apparently amazing.

Ironic since it's the first film ever to be shot entirely in IMAX cameras. Legit every frame.

I'm excited for it, but I'm not sure who @GlobalBoxOffice is or why I should trust their review.

There's been a few people who allege to have seen it who are saying this is the best movie ever made.

I'm a tad skeptical, but maybe he pulled a rabbit out of the hat.

ridiculous. I'm expecting a solid film, like Oppenheimer. I'm a Nolan fan but his work does get overhyped by his fanbase.

I've seen a couple of reviews that say it's a great film. They did mention the casting choices and dialogue as some things the audience will have to adjust to but one did say the controversial casting choices have small screen times.
