yes, Stone recorded the step dad arguing with someone about the financial affairs or what it sounded like. The stepdad already said both parents of the girl were dead. He was married to the mom before she died.
It was the beginning of episode 4 or 5

I'm with you that Freddy is behind it but I also think the stepdad is involved somehow. The few scenes he has been in have been too strange.

If Freddy ends up being some all powerful puppet master that not only orchestrated the murder, but also arranged for nas to be detained in the same cell block as him, I will cancel HBO.

This show is getting progressively worse. No plot, no real twist, just a social justice warrior agenda to show how flawed the criminal justice system is.

This show is so full on SJW I can make you a few promises.
Naz did not do it, but he will be an animal by the time he is cleared due to being in prison.
A white male committed this murder. Not many in this show so take your pick - any of them is plausible. If HBO had enough time to do a reshoot with Det. Box as the murderer given the events of this summer he would be.
Stone will cure his eczema by the end of the show as a metaphor for actually finally helping a defendant as opposed to copping a quick plea for cash.

I'd bet everything I own Duane is not the killer. He's running from Stone for another reason. Saw the killer, knows the killer, knows Freddy is involved, etc

jeez, chill out yall. the show is obviously showing us the flawed justice system, but I still believe the killer either be 1- involved with Freddy or 2- the step dad.
I was reading reddit, and they mention the sort of weird dialogue in the beginning of episode 2. It seems as though someone in the house is listening in on Naz and the chick. I believe the gate thing is probably a red herring, and the killer was in the house the entire time.
The cat will eventually play a role IMO, just not sure to what extent.
there are still 3 episodes left to bring us back in on the mystery angle, and court is about to begin. Let it play out..

I'm not gonna lie, the series has not lived up to the premiere. That first episode was one of the best episodes of television that I've ever seen. So intense.

You keep bitching about things that haven't even happened in the show yet.

I find the prison angle interesting and relevant. I think the show will do a nice job at tying it all back together.
Let the court episodes play out.

all he's done is complain in this thread
god forbid the show wasn't an episode of law an order or sherlock holmes

There is a ton of bitching in this thread about really good tv IMO. I will continue to watch and enjoy.

Like many here, I'm let down by most of what has taken place since episode 1.

I don't need a show for this. That's why I watch television and not a documentary like making a murderer.

They released episode 1 a week early by streaming. The 1st episode was so captivating and I thought we may be getting an epic mini series that only hbo can do right. Its been such a letdown every week. Last week it got a little better and then this week was just more letdown. They arent doing anything we havent seen before and im gonna be upset if Dwayne really is the killer. It would be such lazy writing with the way they zoomed in on him taking a long look at Naz and the girl during the 1st episode.

This would be the only way any of this shite makes sense, IMO.
So Freddy arranges for the girl to get into Naz's cab? Then for Naz to get into his unit at Rikers? C'mon now.

I don't know what everybody is bitching about. I'm enjoying the show.
