The only reason Oldman would know this is if the pick was his costar Jack Lowden.
Not a bad choice.

Definitely sounds like it's Lowden.

Fat Gary Oldman makes me smile. He looks jolly.

Awesome. He’s got the look. Just found out he’s married to Soarise Ronan.

Question is does he run as much in Slow Horses as a Bond film?

I always wanted to see Oldman play a Bond villain. Maybe I’ll finally get my wish.

River would be an awesome James Bond selection, though I do wonder if it would skew slightly more Bourne vs OG Bond as he doesn’t strike me as someone who oozes lady killer like a Sean Connery

I don’t think the production company has any intention on bringing back the lady killer character. It sucks but that’s the reality now. That said, I love the Lowden pick

Or if he's been cast as Q or M already

From the group of boyish betas they assembled to pick from, this guy is the most masculine of the bunch, I guess. Still a poor choice for James Bond, I think. Should be Henry Cavill or Theo James.

I thought they were going with a young Bond. Lowden will be 37 next year, so James or Cavill would've been better choices in that age group.

Yes. And it's hilarious how he oscillates on that show from doing something that makes him a great spy to absolutely fumbling shite. So I have to get a good chuckle at the thought of River Cartwright as Bond.

He would've been great, but I don't think he wanted it.

That’s too bad, he would have killed as Bond. His role in The Gentlemen shows it.

Henry Cavill will be 44 next year.
Theo James will be 42.

I was never a math whiz but it seems like Lowden is the younger choice.

Or did I misunderstand your intended point?
