You wanted Theo, if I remember correctly? And I was thinking Hoult would be good. Yeah?

Well, at least he's...

Theo James.
My pick as well. To me, the gold standard is Pierce Brosnan, who is very good looking and charming. I feel like Theo could pull that off. Not this Jack fella. But I’m also not a casting director.

I did want Theo, but it sounds like they wanted to go a bit younger I guess? He's only 5 years older than Lowden, but Lowden admittedly has a baby face. Hoult wouldn't have been bad either.
I thought if they were legitimately going YOUNGER, Nicholas Galitzine might not have been a bad option (at 31).
ETA: After watching Slow Horses, I can see Lowden pulling it off though. And I think he's getting ready to garner a decent female following when the Netflix Pride and Prejudice series drops in the next couple of months (he's playing fan favorite, Mr. Darcy).

Damn. I never even considered him. What a slam dunk he’d be. Dude is impossibly handsome and pulls off the Brit charm with ease

Steven Knight has completed the first draft of the next “James Bond” movie.
Asked whether he wrote the film with the chosen actor in mind, Knight said: “It’s a bit of both.”
“It does make life a little bit easier if you know who that person is, but also you have to write the character, not the actor.”

I like Lowden, so I'm sure it'll be good, but he doesn't feel Bond-like to me.
Then again I really only know him as River

I always wanted to see Oldman play a Bond villain. Maybe I’ll finally get my wish.
This would be an amazing thing to see paired up with Lowden. They have such good chemistry on Slow Horses.
That said, Lowden seems kind of "wimpy" for Bond, for lack of a better term. Maybe I just can't unsee him as River Cartwright.

Well, if you wanted a secret agent that NO ONE would ever suspect is a secret agent...
They would have to change the theme song. I know you know it, sing it with me, "Secret Agent Tran, Secret Agent Tran."

He's pretty jacked, athletic & does his own stunts. I think 15-20 mins into Bond he'll have us sold.

Theo James.
I just got through watching season two of The Gentleman (highly recommend!). I like TJ in that role very much, but just don’t see him as James Bond.
