For sure. But I think the right script and director can make him dark and brooding like Batman should be.

After seeing him as The Red Menace in Man from U.N.C.L.E. and as the pedophile in Call Me By Your Name, he can play roles far from being a Boy Scout.

Out of all of the problems with BvS and Justice League, Ben Affleck is near the bottom of the list
That doesn't mean he wasn't bad in the role.

But you make a fair point. Who would have really been good with that script?

I thought Affleck was great as Batman.

As far as pontential (younger) replacements, I would say:

Jake Gyllenhal
Oscar Issac
Ben Barnes
Richard Madden
Armie Hammer
Charlie Cox

could all be great choices.

Here we go with another stereotypical white male as Batman. Why not make a statement and hire a person of color to play the role? #RepresentationMatters

Why are you gender biased.

Laverne Cox is the clear choice.

There's definitely some in the media pushing for a black actor. Daniel Kaluuyas name is always brought up.

I believe Marvel prevents actors in their films from appearing in the DCU. This may just be the heroes from the MCU though.

Oscar Issac is wayyyy to short. We don't need another tiny Batman. Which is why I'm firmly in the Hammer camp. Ben Barnes is close being 6'1", but he'll definitely need to hop on the juice.

Any sucky Ben moments were due to the script or plot. He was the most imposing Batman outside of the DCAU.

i agreee. i really liked him.

Here's a dark horse candidate, Scott Adkins. He's got the size, the look, the action skills, not the best actor though. Apparently he made an audition tape recently.

Been hoping for this for over 5 years.

Will never happen.

The most important part of casting is to get someone who can nail both Bruce Wayne and Batman. Keaton and Kilmer have done the best at that.

Thank god. Only someone who isn't a fan of Batman would hope for this.

Batman is far and away my favorite superhero. Elba has the range to play both Bruce and Batman.

Only a retard would dismiss it.

in keeping with current trends in hollywood and its PC dominated brain trusts

the new batman will instead be renamed as the caped crusader and the actor will have to be played by a black woman, preferable a black lesbian woman
